Squid To the max

I think you guys are getting the title "squid" confused with something else. If riding crazy makes you a squid, I guess I'm a squid to the max. You should see the videos that I don't post on here.

I think of squid as
squirrely kid
somebody who rides in a erratic or unpredictable manner, often pushing beyond their own limits.

unpredictable, locking up the rear tire to pitch the bike sideways on a straight nearly taking out the camera guy 0:32 and again at 1:53

yea he can drift and that's not easy on a bike but why don't you practice in an empty parking lot like the stunters do?
how do you know if he is going to race the corner or just try and roach his tire bucking the bike around erratically?

weird... 'squids' here are those taht ride in singlet or t-shirt. usually no gloves, sneakers, standard jeans or shorts. they only wear a helmet cause that is the only gear required by law!

IM A SQUID!!!!! [up][up]

My personal definition of a squid is not only a gearless meathead.(of which i've been guilty of), but also a peron who knowingly puts the general safety of the public at risk along with his own. (also something i have been guilty of)to me it's mostly a state of mind that sheds negative light on motorcyclists.

I'm sure the camera man knew

I think he and the camera guy knew exactly what they were doing, looks to me as if the whole video was to showcase those exact skills you call driving erratic.

that rider was in control of his bike the whole time.and if the meaning of squid has changed over the years.thats fine to i guess i am one and would be proudly grouped with rides like that.i guess we will need to come up with a new name for the rest of you.

Im sure he did too, but how many other track riders that day knew?

...and if the meaning of squid has changed over the years.thats fine to...

According to an older guy at my local hobby shop squid started during WWII, he told me how it had changed over the years he was riding.

It was a reference to primarily navy sailors returning from war primarily on the west coast and buying bikes that they rode overly aggressively but soldiers and air men were also a big part of it

Others from around the 60's were based off of trackday riders but was used on the street too SQUIrrely kID In reference to riders/drivers of high powered vehicles that were erratic or unpredictable on the track with little respect or understanding of track curtesy commonly braking traction cutting in and out of race lines. it was later "shortened" to squid and made a motorcycle thing based off of the relation to the navy and

The more modern ideas are for gearless riders because "road rash looks like squid flesh"

Or to describe riders lacking in skill but judicious use of throttle. Because a squid swims erratically and cannot make sharp turns without slowing way down but is marked by it's rapid acceleration in a straight line.
