I like how the SS looks with the shorter seat giving it the appearance of a stretch and got to wondering if there is any reason I couldn't fit the SS swing arm on my XB9r to give the same stretched look?

Basically would the SS swing arm fit in my Firebolt an if it can would I need to modify anything?

Thanks Brandon

I believe the Shock mount is farther back on the SS, so that might give you some trouble. Also you would need to by the SS belt tensioned to maintain proper belt tension. I already have the SS and I also like the look of the long swing arm and short seat. I just bought the frame rails and seat pain from a s model, as well as a select seat. I think the mod will be easier for me, but I wish you good luck on your mod as well. [up]

Hello nitto 12ss,

the modification 12ss to 12s seat is not so easy how it seams.

You have to modify the Undertray, new bracket for the brakefluidcontainer and so on

for more information you may take a look for the german buellforum. There I have a Thread with further information.

If you klick to the profiles (for example of the member Streetbastart) you can see in the galleries some pictures of bikes at wich are the mod is done....

Is that adapter for the bottom bolt of the side rail in production and available for purchases, or am I going to have to come up with something on my own?
Thanks
Walter

Hi Walter,

I´m sorry, you need a "do-it-yourself construction"!

I guess you mean the cad-picture.

Thats my idea if you dont want to lift the tail so much.

In this case the drill-holes have a overlapping and you can´t use sheetmetal adapters like the taillifter kits.

Andre, do have the dimensions of your bracket? I tried to come up with something myself today in the garage but I am not happy with the results. I will be seeking professional help tomorrow, and plan on having something similar to your design fabricated.
Thanks again for your help.
Walter

Hi Walter,

sorry for the late response.

Do you have a email-address, where I can post you a pdf-file?

Since today are new pictures in the german Buellforum!

regards Andre
