Let me start out by saying I am not a electrician. So when I push the starter button you can hear the starter kick in and then it hesitates, then turns over after a couple seconds. I have put in a new battery, checked the connection everything looks fine. I tried to do a voltage drop test on the connections, but could not figure out how to check the wire coming from starter relay at the starter.
So my question is has anyone else had this problem. Or am I just looking for something to be wrong with my bike.

I think the one time it started without hesitation the other day it was 100 degrees and the oil was really warm, that's when I thought something was wrong with my bike!:D

My XB12R has always done the same, except when fully hot! So my starting procedure has morphed into a two-step process: First is to quickly blip the starter, pushing against the compression stroke. After a brief pause to let the starter spin down, hold the button until is starts.

The issue is made worse by trying to crank while in gear with the clutch held in, which I never do, but thought I'd mention just in case.

Ok i won't worry about it. It might have been doing it since i bought it, but i just know noticed it. It doesn't seem to matter if it's cold or hot. Sometimes it turns over just fine, no hesitating. That's what baffles me. Thanks for the input.
