My stator went out at just under 5k miles. Gonna get a rewind and the new rotor. Anyone else have good experience with that so far? I know it's supposed to solve the problem but just curious if anyone has had any issues.

This stator issue sucks. I would like a 1125 , but don't want to have to deal with this. It seems it's going to happen regardless.

I have seen the rewinds burn up too. If mine goes out again I am going to do the 08 stator and be done with stator issues.

The rotor "should" fix the problem, and that or the '08 stator seem to be the only fixes left after EBR removed the low output stator from their site. I know 2 guys who just got the rotor put on, but they havent been far enough yet to truly test the system out. Although I am sure it wont be long before one of them has put 5K miles on his... He has been riding about 1000 miles a week for the last month and a half... granted that was with 3 different bikes.

Get an '08... they just have the clutch weep... and that only seems to be every 12K miles or so.

Well I ordered the new rotor through EBR and I am gonna send the stator off for a rewind through custom rewind. Should fix the problem but the new rotor hasn't been out for very many miles to know for sure.

Husker, you may also want to look into a new Regulator/Rectifier--many of these Rotax -engine based charging issues can be traced back to this little box... CompuFire makes a nice Series-type R/R that has helped alleviate this issue (very common on some Aprilias too...). CycleCat also makes a good version, but the CompuFire one is more compact. My .02.
