Ordered a custom made Stealth exhaust. Not seen/heard one on a 2009 Buell before, only on the early Buells where the timing seems slower. Been told it should be being shipped today. Looking forward to getting the grunt sound back in my bike after riding for about a year on a stock muffler. I don't mind the stock muffler but I always wanted the Stealth Exhaust but ended up buying the free Spirits [now sold] instead. Hope I won't be disappointed. There's not much info around regarding this exhaust so I plan to do a review and post it up in time.

Fitting was a challenge with a few attempts of bolting up and unbolting before I got it right. It didn't seem like the belly pan was going to fit at first. Seems one of the belly pan bolt holes lines up right on one of the oil pipes so I will need to cut the stainless bolt so it doesn't hit the pipe.

Looks wise I was expecting a fully polished exhaust can but it's satin finished which means I will have to spend quite a bit of time polishing it to the finish I wanted. Even though I ordered the 4" exit pipe version I was a little concerned

First impressions when I started the bike up was O NO! It didn't sound good, it was loud and lacked the deep exhaust note I was expecting. I rode the bike for about 25 miles I reckon and I'm starting to get use to it. It pops crackles on overrun which takes some getting use to as I'm not a fan of that myself. It's louder than I expected, a bit too loud for my liking but you do get use to louder pipes. I'm hoping as the exhaust can fills with soot it will improve the sound. I read somewhere that one person said it sounded better after 160 miles on his Ulysses.

Performance changes. Seems a little flat in the midrange but that may be because the bike need tuning. I'm currently running a Free Spirits TFI unit. So I may dig out the instructions and see if I can add more fuel somewhere? Where it feels slightly lacking in midrange it makes up for it in the upper rev range and starts to pick up around 5000rpm. stock exhaust it was running out of steam a little around that part of the rev range.

I'm trying to make a small video and will post one up when I can do it justice. Until then I'm hoping I will end up liking this pipe cause at the moment I'm not sure. Maybe with more miles on it it will sound better. I like the louder sound [but not overly] and the looks and the fact that it's lighter than stock and it won't rust.

fitment was a challenge.....a bolt needs to be cut down to work properly.....not the finish you thought you paid for and anticipated receiving....disappointed with "the sound".....pops out exhaust on decel.....too loud for your liking.....seems flat in the mid-range...........
seems like a very poor choice using your comments/opinions as a guide-line.

Think I need to clarify my comments. These exhausts are hand made / custom made to order so there's bound to be slight variations. I think its a great exhaust but my comments were my first impressions not lasting ones. Fitting was a challenge because of me not the exhaust. 1x bolt needs cutting and that would be a fault. I had the FreeSpirits race exhaust on my bike so this exhaust is no louder, I was just expecting something quiter that's all. The poping on decel is normal for any exhaust on this model Buell. The mid range slight flatness is also common until the bike is tuned. But what I lost in midrange I gained higher up the rev range.

That tip is enormous

That was my concern when I ordered but actually I like it and I think it looks better than the 3" which was the other option because the 3" is oval and looks plainer - not the same at all. The exhaust looks different and it adds to the style of the bike. There are a number of similar looking exhaust for these and I like having something not common. Although I am aware this is a Marmite exhaust - you love it or hate it.

Decel popping is normal for any untuned decel; it's not the exhaust or the engine. The popping can be eliminated with tuning.

i hand make buell exhausts, there's no variation, the silencers are made to a jig, each one is the same and fit.
the 4" tailpipe belongs on a nova imo but each to their own i guess

LOL I remember the Nova!!

The Stealth Exhaust is a quality bit of kit. I previously owned a £1500GBP Free Spirits reverso race exhaust and this although much much cheaper is up there with the rest imo. I've seen your pipes in a photo or two and I didn't want that same look as all the others with the exit pipe, Even Stealth do a 3" exit pipe which I didn't want as I liked the rounded finish of the 4". But like you said, each to their own.

I'm sure the exhaust note is getting better with use - I've done 134 miles so far! I'm starting to like it now. And the alignment on one bolt for the belly pan is no big deal, just needs the bolt cutting as it's a bit long.

I'm in the process of making a video of a ride I recorded, so if anyone is interested stay tuned.

Video of the Stealth Exhaust. YouTube has reduced my picture quality, it's really sharp on my PC!

Not sure why you bothered with blurring out the speedometer, if they (the po-po) really want to know how fast you were going, it's just a matter of timing and measurement of the stripes on the road. Just guessing at it, you were hitting 80 mph+ in the sections marked "SLOW" on the pavement. Another way to figure it out is gear selection and rpm by sound, but I'm not that interested.

PS, you guys need wider roads over there, plus start riding on the RIGHT side of the road.

Hi D Adams. I know the roads and it was a late ride with good visibility when no one was around. I purposefully chose quiet roads on a quiet evening. Not sure about 80+mph on the pavement?

Our smaller roads are actually fun to ride. Our dual carriageways would be the size of your small roads to allow for your SUV's and the like :)

We drive on the right side even though its left :)

Regarding blurring speedo, I guess I'm a bit paranoid because we are becoming a police state over hear with all the speed cameras and CCTV cameras and the OTT traffic calming controls etc. I'm just covering myself.
