So I had an interesting little conversation with Uli Luigi about the differences between monsters and streetfighters and where he felt Buells fell into those catergories. While he made some good points, I'm interested to see what everyone elses opinions are now.

If you could post what category Buell or a specific line (ie. cr, r, 12r, uly, etc.) falls into and your reasons that would be awesome :D

This has ben beaten to death over on customfighters.com .. you can't really categorize these bikes. Before today, the only monsters I knew of were Ducati Monsters.

Personally I think Buells are factory streetfighters. Or most of the lineup anyway. Then you have your custom streetfighters. Which could be just about any bike.

Just my opinion.

Pre-X1's- Tubers (cruisers)
X1-XB(all)- Streetfighters
1125R- Streetbike
1125CR- Caferacer/street fighter.

i could see the 1125's considered streetfighters
but the ergo's on the city's and uly's seem like they would be much closer to that of a monster, which would leave the question, since the XB's are pretty much the same bikes with minor cosmetic changes would the bolts be monsters as well?

although maybe my understanding of the differences between monsters and streetfighters is just very advanced.

and yes i realize the Buell line wasn't designed to fit into any neat categories, part of the fun of this thread is just to see riders own perspectives of their bikes and where they stand in the motorcycle world

upright position. unfairinged street legal race bike.... = streetfighter (i guess you can race any bike ha ha)

I think of monsters as large cc/hp bikes over 1400cc naked usually liquid cooled. so they are steetfighter also. but heavier.

Mine is definitely a street fighter. An ugly/gorgeous, no-holds barred brawler that loves to turn and burn or hoist block-long horn monos! :D

I remember a time when there were only:
Street bikes,Enduros(dirtbike w/lights)and
dirt bikes,mini bikes,Harleys and euros.

After that I lost track. I ride a 2 wheeler. Anymore questions for me and I might have to park it.
