Hey all, I’m a new 2004 XB12s owner. I bought an inexpensive and high mileage bike with the goal of making some mods and doing some restoration work. On my bike, the frame is factory painted black. I’m considering stripping the paint on the frame down to bare metal. I may directionally sand the aluminum and clear coat it depending on what I find underneath. I have the ability to sand blast or soda blast the tight spots. I have a little bit of experience painting metal cars but no experience with aluminum. Any words of wisdom? What will I find underneath the paint?
