Nitto - set it on a tripod and do a longer exposure at a lower iso. That way the flash won't give it that flash look. Great spot u have there, if u don't have a tripod I'd def invest in one and capitalize on those sunsets.

I'd like to take some artistic pictures , but my bikes are kind of camera shy !

For those who take an SLR/DSLR along for the ride, how do you carry body, lenses, flash, etc.?
I have thought about cutting a block of closed cell foam to fit the body and lens into the tank back, but I don't know where to buy the foam; and I am sure someone has a better idea. (I have a Nikon D60)

nitto, yea the story behind the boy scout pic is...

last December i got eagle scout, and when most guys get that rank they end up getting letters from celebrities and gov officials congratulating them and what not.....well i could care less about celebrities, and gov officials.....not to cool to me....so i decided to see if i could get a letter from Erik!!! he did write me a really nice letter! so i took this picture and sent it to him lol

what he said, if you can do a delay mirror lock up do that too. use a remote as well if you can.
some of my favorite shots are over 30seconds at ISO 100-300

for the camera I have read that the Nikon D3100 is a fantastic bang for the buck SLR

vangaurd uprise sling bag for the gear not in use and a tank bag for the camera while I am riding, I left hand the SLR from the top using my left index finger to shoot while I am riding.
