Sunset Orange Wheels - Black Plastics - XB12Ss

I just bought a 2007 XB12Ss and it is sunset orange in color. I want to paint the frame and swingarm black, and all of the plastics black, but keep the sunset orange wheels.

Has anyone seen a picture of anything like this?

I am dieing to see what my bike might turn out looking like.

I had the rear wheel powder coated a similar color. I think it looks good. Here ya go...

That looks pretty sweet. I am just going to ride the bike stock for the fall, but come winter, Oh do I have work planned.

I want to do all the paint I said about, get some oberon bar end mirrors, get a right side air scoop, gut the exhaust, or buy a D&D exhaust, change the bars to Renthals, chop the rear fender, and some other things. I can't wait to get started.

Yea def sounds intriguing!

All black with a bright florescent color. Kinda like the city car from days of thunder.

Always been a fan of the polished lip with the powder coated spokes

Really? I bought my bike new in 08 and it is Sunset orange. The bike itself was left over from 06. Hard to believe a rare color would last that long.

I was thinking about getting some of the black translucent plastics and wrapping my header in the white heat wrap to give it a kind of hot rod look.

Sunset orange Is a pretty rare color , i'd love to have plastics in that color to go with my hero blue rims just to be diiferent. It kills me when someone paints over the sunset orange ! [mad]

In my opinion it was the best/coolest color offered on Buells .

Im not painting the sunset orange plastics, I have another yellow set that I am going to paint black. Then I can mix the black and orange till I get just what I want.

First I have to get the bike to start though..[mad]

Don't know if you are still looking for pics Maser7c. But it sounds a lot like what i have done with my bike. heres a couple pics of what i have done so far.

mods done: black plastics, K&N air filter,open air box, ASB fuel map, D&D exhaust,breather re-route and catch can, Ariete aluminum grips, 'Pazo' knockoff shorty levers, billet shifter and brake levers, Fender eliminator, Oberon bar end mirrors, dark horse axle sliders, removed belt guards and rear hugger, shortened front turn signals, sport touring seat, painted center chin spoiler.
...Other mods still to come...

mreimer - I noticed that your fender eliminator looks like it is the Diesel Moto kit...If it is, have you had any problems with the license plate frame cracking? I have it and the frame cracks or breaks and it seems like it might be from the vibration...I have an 06 SS and was wondering if you are having any issues...THANKS

Ferris------ I have the Diesel Moto that has the turn sig holes on the unit not on the lic bracket. I've been running mine a year and a half with no lic bracket issues. [up]

Thanks Wallxb! I ended up getting the one that has the holes in the bracket and they have sent me about 5 brackets and they snap everytime. [up]

It is the deisel moto and have had it on for about a year now and have had no problems. The turn signal mounts are in the unit aswell.

imo sunset orange wheels are great with black & definately with white xb bikes. with white sunset orange adds this extra touch )
I'm thinking about painting only front wheel on my stt.
