Swing arm removal

How hard is this to do? I will already have the drive belt, wheel, rear shock, and brake off. Is it then just a matter of unscrewing the oil lines an unbolting the one bolt through the pivot between the siwng arm and frame? I'm thinking of also having it powder coated while I have it torn apart, it would be the time to do it...
 
careful with the oil lines as they arent hard to bend. I assume youre not using a manual? prob dont need one as it isnt too difficult. you'll figure it out as you get in there
 
Thanks, I actually do have a manual but I normally don't look at it until right when I do the work lol. I guess I'm lazy.

I'm not sure about the swing arm bearings but if I do it I'd replace them as they are cheap from all balls. Sounds like an easy job, guess I'll decide once I'm in there...

Any idea what the part number is for the bearing from all balls?

Be sure to post pics of the process snrusnak if you dont mind. I just got my SS swingarm in and will be taking mine off soon.
 
Ok will do. It'll probably be on my build thread though I'm trying to keep everything I do for my bike in one thread. I need to see what it'd cost to powder coat, not sure if I'm gonna do it. Since it's a different color than the wheels it'd probably not be cheap. I might just wait until much later on until I pull the engine one day and do both the frame and swing arm at the same time.
 
Removing and reinstalling the swingarm is easy. Getting the oil lines back on is fun lol. Be sure to undo the rear shock too.

Powder coating: be VERY careful! Any **** gets into the left side axle thread or inside the tank will give you serious headaches. I still haven't got my spare swing back from the coaters due to them ******* it up.
 
Yeah the guy I went to is very good and I'm confident he wouldn't F anything up or do something stupid like get it inside or anything.
