Hey guys,

I have a 2004 12r with darker (gun metal) frame and swing arm. Has anyone here used the factory touch up paint on their swing arm or frame? If so, how well did it match up? If you wanted to sand down the whole swing arm and recoat it, would it be worth it, or better to just have it powder coated to match...

Any thoughts, or feed back would be appreciated.

Thanks!
Rusty

Use the Buell rattle can (part# MO310.1AAYBP ) not the nail polish brush touch up. Also the frames/swingarms are not powder coated they are just paint.

I have had a lot of success with the graphite grey frames. The fluid silver (xb9) does not come out as good, the flake is not as thick and it comes out kinda flat.

Just make sure you sand it with 600 grit then clean the area with 100% rubbing alcohol.
Then spray three light coats and it will blend in to where you can not tell its been touched up.

^ squids right on. The graphite gray rattle can is pretty damn close! You can feather it in, where as the touch up paint doesn't blend well.
