Wanted to keep my stock tail-section just in-case I wanted to go back stock. Got a great tail section ready to go with plate bracket for $160 from Diesel Moto. Bolted right up a perfect fit for the XB, used my stock signels. Just FYI on how I did my 9..

I used a credit card because I was lazy and it was much easier to do at 1AM from my bed without getting metal shavings in my eyes.:D

I seriously recommend that nobody use a bonded abrasive type wheel or disc on the aluminum tailpiece at all. I manage a design/fab shop and know that ferrous metals grind and cut easily with abrasive discs, and the pieces are thrown in the form of sparks, this dissipates heat. Non-ferrous metals clog and build up on abrasive wheels, building heat beyond what the disc can take, causing it to explode. Already having centripetal force, this can cause extremely painful damage to your tender meat sack of a body. Use a BLADE tool of some kind hacksaw, bandsaw, sabersaw, when rough cutting Aluminum. That's my professional recommendation.

Thanks Bitter Rod!

This mod improved the looks of the bike more than anything else I've done thus far.

The only negative is the wet butt you get if you get caught in the rain (which I did Monday). :( It's amazing how the water is so localized!![mad]

Happy chopping!!
