tail lift - what does it do/why?

I think it only looks good on the Scg for some reason...

Also, I wish they would make the adapter blend in a little better with the bike [confused] They kinda stick out like a sore thumb.

I think it looks OK if you get the right seat. Frank Parts has a seat that is specifically made for the lift. Otherwise, you get gaps between the seat and the airbox, as seen above.

Also, is that a drunk dude on the left side of that night pic? You may want to move your bikes! (Nice Ape btw)

You raise your tail to broadcast fear
Wow you are so wrong. In the wild animals lower their tail or tuck it between their legs when they are showing fear. I.E.. a dog.

Tails raised show a sense of pride and dominance. It broadcasts they they are happy, not scared, proud, excited, various other good reasons. You good sir fail.

I think he might have meant that it strikes fear into the people that see it. That is what I got when I read it.

Loki, you're partly right, but I'm hardly wrong.

This is true for herd animals, pack animals, frat houses, and gay communities (are those last two redundant?). If that's your thing, then have fun! I'm just saying, it does nothing for me. Because it's ugly as fuck. And that's a fact.

Here is a pic of my "ugly as fuck" bike. I really enjoy when people state their opinion as fact. I've seen things on here that I think are ugly but I'm not a douche canoe about it.

kona,
i was about to post and say that i didn't know if i liked the lifted tail or not. now that you have posted that, i am no longer on the fence.

i am a supporter of the lifted tail. that thing is sick

Ummmmm... I beleive that is actually an opinion, not a fact.

I'm just saying, it does nothing for me.

Aaaahh.. does nothing for YOU. Yup... its an opinion.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but anyone whose opinion is different than mine is obviously a douche... duh.

Welcome to the forum Tad, you opinionated, animal planet watching, high tail hating, douche. ;)

Cheers

Wow I bet that "Douche Canoe" Will go 160 and he cant prove it!!! HAHAHA I am in the middle of a tail swap and tail lift and I would say I like the looks and that is my OPINION!!!

it gives you wings... wait, shit... no thats red bull... it slides any female passengers you have down even further on top of you thus encasing the vibration passing from your body into their exponentially increasing you chance of getting lucky... at least thats what the box said

NO FEELINGS whatsoever here regarding the coveted tail-lift. i'm 57 so just happy i am still riding and not on some dreaded can-am spyder contraption. i do know this...i don't know who tad is but love his posts!
PS-my beloved cat Pooter lifts his tail to spray down territories in some sort of marking his territory ritual.

57! Respect! I'm only 24 and a day of riding kills my body! Too many big macs perhaps...

Looks ridiculous.  Ugly as fuck.

As far as what it does, it broadcasts to the world that you are a douche with low self esteem who "mods" their bike exclusively for the sake of cosmetics.  It ruins a perfectly awesome bike.

I lol'd a bit.

I'd say it more like this:
