Sending my Cheese grater to be chopped by Randy Hawkins...Any advice on how to redo my tail lights/ blinkers? Intergrated or Redo brackets and mount LED?

It'd be very simple to drill holes in the housing once you get it back to remount the lights. But you'll have to fab a bracket for your license plate anyway so you could make turn signal brackets off it.

Edit: Either way, here's a thread showing examples of both integrated and bracketed chop jobs. - Cheese Grater chop

Here's what I did...It's hard to tell from the pics, but I used LED license plate bolts to illuminate the plate.

Thanks again Stevenc
Randy mentioned he put his license plate on the black part under the rear fender above the tires screwed it in there and its ok
Alabama HW patrol said it was ok so ill check with kansas
any tips on what blinkers to put on the rear end
I want to take my rear ones and put them up front since they are shorter than the big long front ones

Hey 50dro how visible are those blinkers and $$$
I cant really decide what to do for them...right now iam considering drilling new holes after Randy gets done with it and putting some $59 Aluminum (NOT CAST) LED's on the back and taking short rear ones putting them in the front. wonder if it will look dorky

Bein 16 and trying to please mom with safty, but iam working on license and getting out to riding on my own safly [confused]

This is what I have on the rear...You can see them OK (if you're looking:D) I think the LED's are brighter but they are tucked down there a bit. I'll hand signal if I think people need to see me more. They also have a set now with clear lenses.

Rear Signals

I use these on the front

Front Signals

I also used an LED replacement bulb for the brake light. Don't forget that if you go LED, you will need a EP-36 flasher (I'm pretty sure that's the number) You can pick them up at your local auto parts store for around $10-$12.

P.S. - I've had an officer tell me that the setup was OK. That being said, a PA State cop probably wouldn't agree???[cool]

I like what you have done there 50. I've been looking at changing out to flush mounts, I just haven't found a style or placement I liked yet. UNTIL NOW[up]. In the mean time I just shortened all the oem ones. Looks like I might have a weekend project:D

Thanks Kplus12! Glad to help! It's one of those inexpensive mods that really clean up the look alot.

is it possible to remove the extensions on the front ones? since the flex part is just as long as the back ones?

Any other suggestions twards leds?
