Take a few minuites to remember what happened 11 years ago today 9/11. I will never forget[sad]

Where was everyone when it happened? I was in 3rd grade recieving little to no information on what was happening. 11 years goes by fast and because of that day I now have 1.5 years in the Wisconsin Army National Guard. I will never forget.

I was stationed in Kodiak Alaska, getting reay for work and got a phone stating that everyone is recalled!

I was on my way to P.T. to have 0630 formation...

I will always remember Sep 11
alarm woke me up at 6:15 in California and it just so happened to be on a radio station.

for the 10 minutes that i laid in bed, i was listening to the jockeys talk about a plane and a building - zero mention of terrorist attacks.

i turned off the radio and headed to Camp Pendleton.

when i park4ed my car, i walked into the building - there were already 6 or 7 Marines standing around the TV watching this tragedy unfold.

i guess about an hour later or so, we were all working at our desks when our staff sargeant yells "freaking building just fell !!!!!"

........then i watched what everyone else watched.....

I was sitting in my 6th grade classroom. We knew something happened because they made an announcement that school would be released early. But they wouldn't tell us anything. When I got off the bus and got inside my house, my Mom was just sitting in front of the TV crying. That was when I saw.

I will never, ever forget that day and the days that followed.

Ill never forget that day.. was a freshman in gym, principal came over the speakers and told us what happened, then the rest of the day every class i had we were watching the news..

its crazy how you memory works when something that big happens

since then rolling on my 4th year in the Army and still on my 1st deployment in Afghanistan

coming home in a few weeks, cant wait to take the buell out for a bit before the season over with

I saw the first report come across my tv before school started, I raced to school and when I got to school I made my homeroom teacher turn it on. He had no idea it happened, We watched the news the entire day in complete disbelief.

I was working close to sea-tac intl. airport and there was a constant stream of airplanes all day. Then suddenly, nothing. eerie & quiet. i still get shivers when i think about it[sad]

damn.. i could only imagine how creepy that must have been

I was sitting at work dicking off on the internet, as usual.

That job sucked. They MADE us wear little cocktail flags on our name badges under threat of being fired on the spot. I'm not saying I wouldn't have... but come on. And my friend whom I worked with was Indian so they made him go home, no shit.

I was in the tenth grade when they rolled the tv's in for all the students to watch. I went home early because my older brother was in the marines and they let students with family members in the military go home. My brother was ultimately severly injured in Iraq and I enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2004 as an 0311. That day has great significant meaning to me.

I was in a diner having breakfast with my wife and 6 month old son and they had r TVs on when the news broke. I remember looking across the room at a group of about 20 senior citizens and the sadness on their faces and looking at my baby boy just being a baby and making noises and smiling. i remember thinking what the fuck has the world come to and why did I bring a baby into it. we sat there at the diner for 4 hours, everyone in there when I got there was still there 4 hours later. We all just looked at each other in disbeleif as to what was/had happened. My warehouse was directly under the flightpath of D/FW airport by 5 miles and the silence that day and the 3 days after was extremely haunting. I also remember the country coming together and EVERYONE showing their patriotism with flags, banners and a general acknowledgement of evryone you bumped into because we were all feeling pain and we could all relate. I also remember that patriotism fading as the weeks went by. What happened to that spirit of brotherhood and pride in our country because I feel it's still there but people just donmt feel the the to express it unless there's a tragedy. I'll never forget!

Anyone else take note of the weather today? Not that it's extremely uncommon this time of year but it was IDENTICAL to that day.

My mother taught with a woman whose brother worked in the 1st tower. He went in early that day b/c he had a lot of work. He left at about 8:20 to go get donuts for his office. As he was returning to the building he looked up as the first plane struck the tower. His office, which was typically crowded by 8:30, was directly in the impact zone. Most of his co-workers he never saw again.

I was in the Gulf of India on my way too the Gulf before it happened. Remember coming down too berthing and everything being quiet and seeing the tv ans wondering if this was a joke. After that 9 months dropping bombs!

Military police, amazing how many guys on here serve and have buells [up]

Thanks everyone on here who serves!

I was in 5th grade at the time. Definitely didn't grasp the gravity of the situation. My teacher had us doing daily journal entries and I found that journal one day. Gave me the chills when I ran across the one for 9/11 just last year. It didn't seem like as much of a big deal to me at the time because the shooting at Columbine had happened 2 years earlier only 10-15 minutes from where I went to school. I see how much more horrific the WTC attacks were now. I guess I learned how unfriendly the world can be at a very young age. Now that I'm older, I truly appreciate the amazing selfless deeds of others like the servicemen and women who sacrifice to keep things back at home safe. For that, I thank you.
