I got this in my Buell Club news Letter the other day.

Thought i would share it with you as i found it represented me to a T and probably will to the rest of you on Buell XB...

I specialy like this peice "These are the riders who park their bikes, begin to walk away and then stop. They turn and look back. they see something when they look at their bikes that you might not. something more complex, something that is almost secret, sensed rather than known. they see thir passion, they see a part of themselves."

I find my self doing this every time i get off my Lightning, I even pat her on the back and stroke her side as i walk away, as if to say "good girl, great ride"... after work i always walk towards her with such excitement like a kid in a toyshop.

anyway here it is.

Ive seen it before, very cool story. I waved at a guy on a Harley a few weeks ago and he shot me a bird.

a lot of riders that dont wave think its dangerous,i wont wave over 100 mph just two fingers up.the local m/c never waves so i always give them the goofy miss america wave.

Ha ha, nice im going to start doing that, maybe even stand up on the pegs and wave with both hands.

Bossanova that applies to corners and going threw them. Here in Florida we have no curves so our left hand is free to do what ever.

obviously there are those moments where it is just dangerous to take a hand off your handle bars eg: while cornering, dirt biking, stunt riding, back flip off a dirt ramp... you get the picture.

but mostly i wave to everyone on a strait section of road...

mostly everyone waves back.. its just those hog riders that seem to be too cool to acknowledge us regular rider folk...

i always give some form of acknowledgement out of respect for my fellow rider.if they dont reply i assume they belong to 500 mile a year club or outlaws and are to cool.

LOL Yeah I live in Florida too. Curves are few and far between.I usually wave whenever I can but sometimes I don't.

I live in the DC Metro Area. When I first started riding around here, I'd get a real kick out of "the wave". Then when I started riding to work, I noticed that fewer people waved. I realized that during the rush hour commute, it's probably a better idea to keep your eyes on the road and hands on the grips.

I usually wave. When I just spot the other motorcyclist as they are waving, I'll just give a quick nod.
Sometimes I fake wave when I'm in the car. The family thinks it's funny.

I just give a quick nod if i'm in traffic or in a turn, most of the time i'll get a nod back. I do get the bird alot mostly on the highway from H-D riders they must think it's Jap bike. (Buell in big letters across my fairing must be a new model of Honda) :D
