same price on the boot - chicago hd gives 20% off ofr on line orders. The few silver Blasts I've seen look cool, however, the white is probably easier to touch up. Since your intake is not stock, I would sugest the superboot by Dan/ThumpE - sold on ebay.

Nice. I have to say the seat is atrocious tho. [sad] I would defiantly re-do the fabric or snake skin or whatever it is. ;)

I personally like the silver vrs. the white.

Let me know how the wife like's it. Considering a blast for my girl.

Im liking the silver also. Maybe you could do the part of the tank below the cover silver to match.

I say stick with the silver. Looks like most of it is already painted silver, and if you decide later on you can always change colors.

Nice deal, I have yet to ever see a blast that cheap. I like the sliver color a lot. I would get my wife a blast but she's too short to ever ride a bike and she refuses to ride on the back.

Good find for $700.. I got my wife one too, 03 with just under 5k on it for $1900.. She's pretty stoked about it..

EZ the intake is stock i just have it removed in the pic so ill probley just stick with the stock boot.

Im gonna take the seat to an upolstry shop tommorow to see how much it will be to recover black. then ill probley stick with the silver.

Motophreke how do you like that jardine on there?

Gotta say, the Jardine is loud, but I like loud, and I like the fact that the cagers will hear her coming..
I'm gonna repack it for her before she starts riding it, just to cover my bases, so far I've only been up and down the guys driveway that I bought it from so I'm not really sure how it performs on the road. The previous owner had new tires put on it, but the front is too big, when it rolls over any kind of dirt that sticks to it you can hear it scrape the underside of the fender. :(
I have one on order that should be in today and I'll get that swapped over for her as well.

Also, I like the silver over the white.. [up]

There are always fair priced Blast seats on ebay- new or used, regular or low. If your brown seat was professionally done, you should try to sell it instead of recovering it. Silver does look good, especially with a black seat. Get rid of some of the plastic shrouds and guards too.

My wife's 2004 Blast when I bought it. I changed the seat to the low version.

I have thought about selling the seat and getting a stock one but she really likes this one minus the color. Its a corbin and is very comfortable and my wife wont let me get rid of it. I saw on there website they want like $429 for one.

I have contemplated takeing the rear fender/ belt guard off but still dont know what i want to do. i just hate the look of that huge belt pulley

YJBoomer- i thought about trying to find a 1125 and letting my wife ride mine but she's only 5'2 and cant come close to touching the ground. maybe if she gets good and i lower it she might be able to ride it. I think with it being her first bike the blast will have more than enough power

Im only 5'4 and i started on a blast bc of my height but 2 months later i was on RT's lighting with the firebolt tail.... He had to lower it a bit for me and im still tippy toeing alot of the time but i just had to learn to put one foot down instead of two.

I think the only thing he did to lower it was change out the shock and whatever adjustments that goes with that, but he will have to confirm this.

also, i played with this site a little when we were looking for a bike. it takes ur height and riding position and shows u how well u fit on any bike that u choose.

if nothing else its fun for a few minutes lol

What a fun bike the Blast can be. It is too cold for my wife to ride yet so I will be taking her's on a 200 mi. back road ride today instead of my XB9SX. It might rain and my CityX needs a new front tire.

well heres a little update. Got the blast almost ready to go. We decided to go with the silver paint and i ended up dying the seat black. I used leather shoe dye. lol it actaully work pretty good.
hell i might even ride it every now and then. I got the new carb boot on today as well as new spark plug and changed oil and filter. just waiting on my spark plug wire. The only problem right now is that i broke one of the exhaust studs off when i removed that so i just got to drill that out tommorow. I also got some lightning handelbars coming for it. once thats done it should be ready to ride. the road. the wifes pretty excited
