thinking about a zx14

and it will snap ur head back @ 140 if u crack it open, i rode it... holy crap! My buell was side by side with it until i hit 2nd gear and then i could barely see it and never catch it. I know i dont need that much "capability" bcuz i wouldnt pace myself as much as i should but they r well built bikes and kinda fun to ride. I would consider the 1400 kawi thats made for touring (i dont remember the model) but its basically a zx14r with bags and a taller windscreen a more upright riding position and only slightly less HP. I believe some police forces use them bcuz they are wicked fast and handle very well.

I would use it for a sport touring bike. Put some heli-bars on that thing and take it across the states. I have been entertaining the possibility of getting a big rocket because I don't like the big cruisers. If the bike suits your needs, get it. I have seen a lot of really sweet deals on some of those bikes (ZX-12, ZX-14, etc) that are only a couple years old with under 10k miles on them.

Great bike, my friend has an older FZ1 Yamaha and has driven it across country a few times. He's also the best guy I've ever ridden with. He can toss that thing like a 250 in the turns and I don't even try to keep up with him. It's all about the rider and set up. Most of us have seen the video of the Goldwing at Deals Gap right? 800lb Honda with hard bags ridden like a 600 Sport bike.

A good rider can make any bike handle great.

for those that havent seen it.

If you're wanting one for a "fun" ride I say pass on it. Ripping through a few gears with the throttle cracked wide open will see you on the high side of 160 before you can blink an eye. How many times do you think you can get away with those velocities before fate steps in and ruins the party.

EXACTLY what I meant by the whole dragstrip comment

Some of you are missing the point. You think that's all a ZX14 or 12 or Busa are good for. How many times do you guys rip your XB's from zero to 60 or zero to 100? I did that a lot on mine and I did it a lot on my ZX12 and Busa and my other bikes too, and they are much faster than my XB ever was. And they can handle the corners too. Every bike that handles is fun, being able to handle and go faster is more fun.

Guys name is david who rides one of the yellow gold wings. He is from down here in Georgia and is the only guy I know that can drag his knee successfully on a Golding.:D
