Hi Fellow Buellers........took my XB12R out today and pulled the clutch in to no avail....:( didnt engage and bike stalled.....thought my cable was broken but it isnt......has anybody had the same problem??? tried adjusting the clutch with a flathead screwdriver ....still no good......no strange noises.....bike hasnt been abused.......your thoughts on this would be great....cheers

Thanx for that......took the inspection cover and cam adjuster off.....looks like the inside lip of the cluth cover is in half and the other side is wafer thin......SHIT!!!!!......anyway looks like im gonna be coughing up some $$$$ shortly eh!!! is this a common problem due to it not being strong enough??? ie: not more gauge for it in the casting design???? your thoughts and experience on this one fellas......cheers

Excellent thanx alot for the links you sent summed it up heaps think i shall mod for sure......great site and alike.....cheers :)

This seems to be a common problem on these bikes. I put exactly 1 mile on my bike after I bought it when my bike did the same thing. I just ordered a new primary cover from harley for a total cost of $268 :(

this happened to me about 2 weeks ago. sucks, but it's not hard to replace just hard shelling out the money to get a new one[mad]

did the mod today.....ground the otherside of the broken lip off.....used 2.5mm stainless plate and countersunk the bolts....put back together clutch feels great.....started bike up pulled the lever in and heard a slight grind from the basket touching the cover will grind a tad more off at the weekend to finalise the job....i do remember the previous owner saying he had replaced the primary cover....now i know why......crap design fault.....me thinks this is a worthwhile mod to out last many primary cover blues for sure....cheers
