OK guys and girls, Has anyone replace the the throttle adjustment cable/screw? I was in the middle of a TPS reset and mine broke about three inches from the throttle body. It was badly worn, just hanging on by one of the threads on metal. I pulled the air box off to see what I was getting into. There is alot of stuff in the way of course. I was wondering what I should pull out and what things to be very careful with when removing? Plus any tricks would be great.
I ordered a new one and want to start getting it ready so I put in and back together in time Carlisle Bike Fest. I hoping it come in the beginning of next week.

Replaced mine without removing much at all except as needed to remove air-box base.
Grease the new screw length at the throttle body, so future adjustments are smoother.
Used a new, longer, zip-tie to give me more finger room at the 'knob-end'.

[My '04 XB12R was seemingly assembled "dry": lots of bare metal-to-metal contact; ripe for corrosion-sticking together.]

Just to be clear guys (I posted right before I went to bed this morning), its the idle adjustment screw/cable.

aptbldr, didn't get to involved this morning just removing the air and looking around. how is it attached below the other cables?

Its end (a threaded rod) screws through a threaded hole in a stamped steel bracket attached to throttle body.

i broke mine too and adjusted it with a pair of needle nose pliers to finish the tps reset. what a pita that was. i got a replacement for 5 bucks from someone on badweb. ill wait till winter to tear into it and replace.
