Hi all,

Recently the throttle on my 2007 xb12ss has decided to play up. It has about an inch of free play and will not go back to position if I twist more than half throttle.

I believe I may be up for some new cables.

I have a few Q's: 1. Is the more than just the push and pull cables? 2. Are these easy enough to replace?

I don't mind forking out the cash for new cables, just don't want to have to pay someone to do it.

easy replacement there are two, one pulls from each direction and then the spring keeps it pulled back to closed. I'd pull off your airbox and look to see what your issue is.

what wolfo said. keep in mind inner cables do NOT stretch....the outer casing shrinks from wear, age, and excessive pressure. an inch of freeplay as you stated is quite abnormal. check cable situation before springing for new.

Thanks for the reply. In the air box there is a cylinder that has cable going to it. Is that cable just one of the throttle cables?

easy to replace, if you have any ability at all try it! take your time take pics if you need to. notes, whatever it takes.few tools required.torx ,allen.few wrenches. you will be glad you did
