rode her last night for the first time after the conversion, :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D is all I can say, felt different, she settled lots at higher speeds, more then two digits:D...man if only I had ridden an actual Firebolt to begin with, probably would have not bought the Lightning, either way I'm really, really freaking thrilled...

Hell ya man!!! Good to hear! Can't wait to see some full shots of it with the conversion

an update on the dual headlights, no joy, no joy[sad] same exact problem as before when I tried it early last year, low beam goes out...switched it back and it works just fine, going the install new, brighter bulbs in the next day or two...missed my cleaning day due to work, rescheduled :p

That sucks monkey nuts. Oh just noticed your post in my thread about the coronado bridge, I lived in SD for 3 years I remember that bridge well

cleaning: check, yesterday before work and the translucent paint finally arrived while at work, so today ya know what I'll be doing :D

thanks Big twin...
so, cleaned the windscreen up with mineral spirits, had one heck of a time with lint and dust in the air, used one of those cleaning cloths for glasses to do the final wipe before hitting it with paint, it's ok and not what I thought it would look like after seeing many pics on the net...

Doesn't look bad though. Looks really good cleaned up man, like the black front end, it flows with the lower fairing and seat

after a couple of days, seems like the windscreen has darken a bit more, dunno if I'll keep it like that or hit it with mineral spirits again and remove the yellow and just go with a smoked screen...replaced light bulbs with the same type, just blue ones, they appear to be brighter...still waiting for the yellow/carbon fiber dash board

well here I am about a month later and have decided to go back to the original set up of the Lightning, parts are going as a package deal at the moment under Buell OEM parts thread...thanks guys

You think if you would have kept your original bars you would have stuck with it? I'm finishing up a similar swap now but I kept my lightning bars and trees. I totally agree with you about the dedicated position, wouldn't want it all the time.

Chicago, this thread is from 3 years ago, and he has already sold the bike and gotten a FZ09, might be a little late, but I imagine a much more upright position on the Yamaha.
