Got a set of Dunlop Sportmax Q2's earlier this summer don't even have 1k on em and got some "splitting" as seen in the pictures. The "splits" I am talking about go from side to side and are ONLY on the right side of the rear tire. I e-mailed the dealer where I got the tires they said they need to inspect the tire for abuse yada yada I'm like wtf but goin in Monday so they can look at it. What you guys think? I ride approx 9 miles a day 4.3 miles 1 way to work so... never been on a track hell still round in the center still got about 3/4in chicken strip for Christ sake.

thanks Onelogue doin that already hehe will wait to see what dealer says Monday I do know it's squirrley as hell turning right like I rode thru some oil or something turning left solid as a rock. SO any ideas why it's happening?

Need to look at the dot number maybe it sat with the right side in the sun?
Looks like a weather/age issue

when at home she sits in the garage on stands and at work she's inside so no sun atleast since I've had em

I see the problem, its a Dunlap. I have had 3 sets of Dunlaps on different bikes over the years and never liked any of them. Looks like its a bad compound mix from the factory causing the rubber to crack.

ive had dunlops on every bike ive owned and never had problems.are you scrubbing them in properly.

far as when I got em didnt get on em til approx 200miles were on em made sure the mold release was gone before i even tried to ride em hard Like I mentioned in my 1st post I don't ride far at all to/from work is about it.

hey guys I have a question off the subject. My back tire is worn in the center pretty good (pirelli) and I have little cracks in it too. In the center. And I have probably have 2500 mi. on it. Just wondering when I should change it?

strmvt you should push to have that tyre replaced. If the dealer wont do it on Dunlops behalf make sure you make contact with a dunlop rep.Go to another bike store if the one that sold them wont help. I am sure that they will want to replace that and send it back to manufacturing for analysis.Good luck mate.

Just got back from the dealer. They will replace tire and send it to Dunlop. Thats the good news the bad news is since I didnt have them install the tires I have to take the wheel off myself and take it to em since they don't work on Buell's eh not like it's hard but I think that if someone is riding around on a defective tire no matter the bike you's change it then and there oh well. atleast it's gettig changed all I was worried about.
