I'm not sure how they invented crack

quite by accident, actually. a coke sniffer somewhere in europe cut his stash with sodium bicarbonate....fell asleep while said stash was close to a heat source...woke up to find it in now solid form....wondered if would be "smokeable" cause it sure wasn't sniffable.......and Viola.........crack.
or so i'm told.

I'm all for chopping stuff up, but only insofar as you end up with something better than you started with.

I'd suggest that the flaw in your plan is that you'd like to simultaneously run more power through less chassis. Regardless of how well-built, you're just going to end up with something barely-rideable that can't put down any of the extra power, and won't smoke a Prius let alone anything on two wheels.

If you want a rigid frame, the last thing you need is more power than a stock XB already puts out. Conversely, if you want more power, you're going to need all the chassis you can get.

I'd recommend building up the rigid frame first, getting the bike running, and then deciding if it actually needs, or can even handle, more power.
You should see what I did to a perfectly nice 1941 Knuckle motor
Let's see some pics!

Everyone who puts a buell motor in a ridgid kills the power by getting rid of the fuel injection. At that point you make close to same power as a stock sportster.

To answer your question, IMO the big bore kits and upgraded parts will get you more HP than most other Buells on the road. Throwing a turbo on there is a lot more tuning etc... if it were up to me and I was interested in retaining some of the stock Buellness I would go with the big bore. If you're going to turbo charge something I echo the rest in saying, buy something else.
Inevitably it's up to you. Why not just turbo charge the big bore kit? :D

Actually, the power drop is primarily because you have to do away with the FAR better Buell downdraft intake and well designed airbox in favor of the retarded Harley side mount setup. The carb has little to do with it.

Just wanted to thank everybody...you guys are a great help and a good bunch of guys. Quick update---finally pulled the trigger and picked up a like new 04' Firebolt...all tricked out and extras....love this freaking bike. Decided to hold off on the turbo route and just ride the shit out of it right now. I also can't bring myself to screw with the bike---it handles great and pulls like a truck, I think this one will be staying as is and I will find another powerplant for a chopper build---thanks guys
