Finished putting the brembo hidden rear caliper together, now trying to bleed the brake but not having any success. Following the directions in the manual but I get no pressure build up while pumping the brake, although it will flow quite well out of the bleeder valve...

Anyone have any ideas?

I did it this way on my last bike.

Remove the caliper, sit it on top of the wheel with something the same thickness of the rotor between the pads and bleed it there, this will help remove any air in the system.

Where did you get your caliper? Ebay? I got one of the crappy Thailand ones and had the same problem, come to find out there was no hole under the bleeder screw to let the fluid out. Had to b*tch at them till I got a refund.

Nope, got it from asb. The bleeder definitely lets fluid out, I've been getting it all over myself!

I'll give it a shot moving it up higher on the caliper...maybe having easier access to the bleeder screw will help...

No air in the system? You want to make sure you close the valve at the bottom of the compression stroke so it doesn't draw air back into the system. So long as you follow the steps, you should get pressure when you close the valve, since there's no where else for the fluid to go.

Right...I'm pumping it with the valve closed, then press and hold, open the valve, close the valve, and release the brake. Does it matter that I have the cap off the reservoir up top?

Pump, pump, pump, hold the pedal down crack open the bleeder (keeping the pedal held down) once the pedal moves all the way down lightly close the bleeder valve and repeat until no more air bubbles come out. Sometimes twisting the lines a little and wiggling them by hand can help release air bubbles in the line, in between bleedings of course. Also tapping on the master cylinder with a rubber mallet can help release caught air bubbles in the master.

My pedal goes all the way down with no resistance while the valve is closed...must have lots of air in there, going to keep trying...

Thanks for the helps guys, got it working.[up] Had to move the caliper so I had better access to the bleeder valve...when it's mounted it's behind the swingarm and a pain to get to!

Damn, I sure could have used that! My 7 year old daughter really liked helping me bleed the brakes though, so it was all good.[up]

Took it for a test ride this morning and had very little rear braking power. Pulled it back in the garage and bled it one more time, got a big air bubble out right away...another test ride and everything is good, can lock it up if I get on it.[up]

Thanks again for the help guys!
