Hey guys I just got my 03 firebolt xb9r, Im 21 just about to get my M license in May been riding for 2 years record is clean. But im getting some awful quotes i was just wondering who people are insured with around here (gta area with the same age/bike). Right now the lowest quote i got is from this John Duffy guy i found on gtamotorcycle forums and he's giving me 1900 a year.

Jeez man, look into progressive insurance, by far the cheapest around, I pay around 250 a year, and thats for a '06 XB12r...

Not sure if you have Aviva in Ont... I use them up here in Mtl and I pay eight something...

New license, '09 XB12Ss, but I am 30...

Someone mentioned to me that Statefarm only considers displacement when categorizing bikes. Although again the 1200 puts you in a high category here as well.

Worth a shot though if you haven't got a quote from them yet.

Only other tips are when answering questions for quote:
-you don't use you bike for commuting, just occasional weekend riding
-stored in a locked garage
-raise your deductible to $1000 or consider removing comprehensive.
etc.

Yea most of you guys are over 25... This is basically the type of reality I live in, I'll probably end up taking this quote it's by far the cheapest. Statefarm had the nerve to tell me 5k a year just liability I told her it's cheaper to pay the fine with the types of rates there offering, and I'm pretty sure progressive isn't offered in Canada.

Wow 5K?..crazy...I hope that you find some decent rate you can live with.

Let this be a lesson to all you kids out there. Go against your parent's wishes and get a 500cc bike as soon as you turn 16.

Devon,I was with Rider's Plus and was paying $750,but I am a old fart.Last year they hit everyone with a 75% increase,to about $1300.Went shopping and most wanted $2000 plus. The broker who does my car insurance was able to piggyback it on my car for $1300,but got a lot more coverage. If your car is with The Guarantee Company of North America you might be able to do the same.
