Hey all,

Been a lurker here for quite some time. Been riding my X1's for over 10 years now. Can't get enough of these beauties. I now have three in the stable (1999, 2002, 2002). Yes, it's an addiction. Just can't stand seeing these get chopped for customs.

Curious if anyone on here has stepped into the turbo world with their X1? I am near completing a turbo build on one of my X1's and am curious if others have done the same here. Interested in chatting about fueling, etc.

Here's the build: Performance cams (turbo friendly), 1250cc kit, custom cut pistons for forced induction, stage 2 heads done by Hammer, heads machines for dual plugs. Scorpion clutch. Aerocharger turbo with custom intercooler. Dual coils. Race ECM (but will use ECM Spy to see what I can do with fuel maps, etc.)

Really looking forward to first fire, only a couple weeks away.

Aaaaaanyway, let the chatter being. :)

Hi all, yeah, I'll post some pics soon. Done with the moc-up stage and ready for final assembly. Once I get the turbo related items mounted, I'll be sure to post some pics.

Sounds pretty kick ass! What size turbo/ housing did you end up with and what's your static compression ratio?

I've been toying with using two tiny turbos where the XB muffler sits, but without custom pistons the cylinder pressures want race gas:(

I went with the 53 Series turbo. Had the pistons machined for 8.5:1, cams are SE 25647-91A (536 cams), also had largest valves possible used in stage 2 heads. Hammer does BEAUTIFUL head work. I couldn't believe the smoothness of the profile and how much of a difference it made. When I compared the machined heads to stock Thunderstorm heads, I was amazed.
