If you give her a kitten in a box, make sure you put air holes in it first.  Really helps eliminate any awkward crying.

Sometimes it's not always about money! Again I agree with native about all women are different, but yet they are all the same as well. Usually, what I do for my girl (which we both are in our late 20's and have been dating for over 6 years) is doing something that we've both enjoy doing. I know she loves it when I make her gifts cause it's more sentimental and she for sure loves it when I TRY to cook (usually doesn't work out so I order fancy stuff HAHAHA!!!). I know one tradition I have always done for her is get her a bear(build-a-bear) for every year we've been together. Every year on the day I try to take her to the park and just walk around and take pictures. Last year, she was sick so I got her soup and rented movies instead. I can go on forever!!! Again, just knowing what she likes and the things she loves doing (even if you don't like them) is what the best way to go! Hope that helps! If not, my bad!
