I Just got my wheels powder coated and plan on reusing the stock valve stem since they are an odd size and seem difficult to replace with aftermarket stems. My question is has anyone replaced the rubber seal on their stock stems and if so what did you use? I'm concerned that maybe the original, being ten years old, may leak.

neil: r u sure it's the stem seal and not the inner schrader valve? i'd check to see if you have the valve nut nice and snug. the buell part # is: G0313.02A8 they're cheap and i think that # crosses over to an H-D # as well but can't find it at the moment.

John I didn't have a leak or anything, I was just wanting to put a new seal on them since i had them off, Lancaster HD said it'd be a week to get them, being pressed for time I went ahead and just reused the old ones as is and they are holding air just fine.

they'll be fine neil. including buell...bmw..kawi...h-d....i've never see a valve go bad yet and that's a hell of alot of tire changes. i'd still do the "spit on the schrader valve" routine when they are done and mounted just to be sure schrader is fine. if you have a bad one let me know and i'll send you 2 down neil.
