I dont think what Vick did was right by anymeans, but he admitted his guilt, was sentenced, did his time, and repented.
I think the main problem is that his sentence was significantly shorter because he is a star.
And our views on animals are based on our society, so you can't compare what Vick did to what is done in china because he did not do it in china, he is a part of our society.
Sociology is very complex, especially when it comes to ethics, it's hard for most people to see outside their own ethical background.
The way much of our food is handled is disgusting but what these documentaries don't show you is how short a period some of these animals are in those confines.
I helped raise cattle on my grandmothers farm, you could take those pictures at her farm too, but you would only have about a 2 hour window to take that photo before they went back out to one of the multi acre lots.
If you realy want to know go look for yourself because even a semi skilled director can spin a story his way, especially if you aren't looking close
Ben steins intelligent design is a shining example of a one sided documentary featuring opinion as fact and out of context quotes/ imagery and carefully selected "experts".
Watch it while keeping in mind the whole time what is the other side? Is this a fair comparison? How do I know this is true? Did they choose a reputable individual? Is this an "ace in the whole" credibility killer (like in law where they have qn idiot come up to attest to somebody's credibility and in fact they destroy it)?
Even the history channel has become crap like this, blinders on propaganda.
I would rather catch and kill my own food, hunting from the ground not ambushing like so many deer hunters (no offense) but for many of us we must rely on mass produced food, this unfortunately includes animal products.
Too many mouths to feed and not enough space to create the food (grow process raise and whathave you)
Back to the topic, dog fighting in America is wrong, abusing a dog is wrong, sorry.
Does you food get abused before it hits your plate? Maybe but it's within the limits of the law, no that doesn't make it ethical but it does make it legal.
So define your idea of right and wrong before you judge another for his/her idea of right and wrong, ethics or laws, who's ethics? What societies rules? Ect.
