Hi Guys

I am 27 years and getting my motorcycle license for the first time. My first bike purchase is a new 08 Buell XB12Ss in candy apple red. I have had competition dirt bike since I was 4 years old and I am not concerned to much about handling the new bike. But what can I expect with this new bike. The sexy look is what caught my eye plus there is no dealership in my home province of Newfoundland. I have it being shipped to me here from Nova Scotia. I like being unique and turning heads and i feel this bike is the ticket. Not one single Buell in my area.
The bike has a sporty look and I was very surprised when i heard the sound on youtube of the bike. I expected a sportbike sound and to my surprise a Harley belted out. WOW. Anything else I should come to expect from these awesome machines?

wheelie machine's[cool] expect to have nothing less than a great ride every time just be careful and have fun

Expect lots of stares and answering a lot of “what is it” questions. Also plan on changing your exhaust so that you will get more of that HD V-twin rumble[up]

Does the new exhaust make them any harder on gas or just make them sing a different tune? What about warranty is that void if u put on a new exhaust?

I've experienced no difference in mpg. My dealer said no it will not void the warranty. In fact they will probably sell you one (D&D).

Another thing too....I also got a price on putting handwarmers on the bike but i neglected because i felt the price was too high. They quoted $555.00 including parts and labor. Upon doing research on the bike i come to find out the bike comes pre-wired for handwarmers and the factory buell handwarmer kit retails for around $169.00. Do you think the dealer is charging me too much? Can I do the install myself?

I figured the dealers had to solder wires and things. Does anyone know if the handwarmers just plug into the wiring harness and all i have to do is slip on the new grips over the bar ends?

i would go for a manual...;)

if it's pre-installed from factory it should just be a plug & play issue.
although i don't know since i never installed them.
