Wanting to time my bike

Hey guys,

Now that I've got my bike running I've noticed that it seems to be pinging alittle and just isnt sounding like its running as smooth as it should.

Considering I have changed the spark plugs, oil, and tranny fluid, and also done a proper tps reset, I'm assuming that timing might be in order.

Has anybody had experience using ECM spy and timing your bike? I'm trying to figure out how hands on it is before I begin.

Can you describe your pinging?

It's common for these Harley based motors to make a lot of noise.

Also, check your oil when the bike is at opporating temp.

You might must be a little low

K. I will definately check my oil level once I get the bike up to temp (180 degrees)

Also I ran ecm spy and noticed a trouble code...

"Trouble code 44, short to supply voltage or open"

Does anybody know that this means?
