Don't sweat the tire thing man, I've run through a set already at the track, my new gsxr track bike has a new set on as we speak, 90% of the guys in red, blue, and black group run them at BOTH track organizations I run with! I've had ZERO problems, they have done nothing short of stick like glue. Ran my fastest laps to date on em.

highly recommend Shinko SuperSport SLG(stick like glue) radials for both track and street. those along with HellFire 1-percenter exhaust system is truly an unbeatable combination. my record setting track times at Americas' fastest tracks including Talladega SuperSpeedway corroborate same.
love always,

The Chebby had lug nuts under the center caps. Just not tight ones... the studs started snapping off:upset: I decided to get a tow instead of try to get home on 3 studs. That made me check it out further, more rookie stuff like wheel bearings. Stock rollers, not tapered and torqued to at least 150lb/ft:stupid: so I've been busy playing with the '57 making it a daily driver. I sold the S-5 because I need a 60+ year old car as my only vehicle with a roof? Never been happier about a dumb decision:angel:

But in the meantime I'm still waiting for an answer from LAP about the weird headlight smoke stuff because the brand new headlight is doing the same thing in one ride:mad-new:

I did get to meet a hero though!

I waited just a little too long and the swingarm got a little shiny part

But not structural, so I'm not gonna worry about it. I will say the 43T Steel sprocket does have a slight off-set that I had put to the outside (50/50 guess right?). I turned it around and that helps a little. The new slider has a little rub on the outside again after the first ride so perhaps a sprocket with another 10 thou inside off-set would center it better? Not really worried, its a cheap part ($38 shipped) and took about 10 mins to swap. 3 allens for the rear-set and tensioner, I pulled the rear wheel too, but don't think you have to even do that.

A big "Thank You" to our esteemed SilverRider for getting the Oberon clutch slave cylinder and letting us know what a big difference it made.

I had seen it but thought 'No WAY! $140 for a slave?' and 'It couldn't make that big a difference'. Cliff notes? It did.

Did several pulls with a luggage scale. I tested it for accuracy with dumbbells at 20-30-40 lbs.
Pulled right at the relief on the stock levers (40.8lbs!!)

Wiggle it carefully in place and it drops 80% of the way in without issue. The last 20% is critical and HARD.

Now, thats perfect. The top lip (that the stock one does not have) is barely past the clutch cover hole.

Wow. 17.9lbs pull. Totally repeatable.

Very smooth linear pull at half the effort and only 7.7lb hold?!?

Worth every penny.
For giggles I tested the XB (Stella) that has a stock clutch, shorty levers and a new cable and it was very close to being the same (about 1lb more).

Thats impressive.

I got word on the weird headlight smokey white mark thing too.
I asked LAP (who I bought the replacement headlight from) and after sending pics, they referred to EBR and immediately sent out a new unit with a tag to return the old one.

They mentioned the supplier was aware of the issue for the early bikes (mines #000024 for 2014) and requested my Vin# to see if some snuck through.

Very NICE customer service from LAP (through e-bay even!) matches what I've experienced from EBR to this date. Classy bunch.

I'll swap the headlight again once I'm home (Mom's b-day in Portland:love_heart:)

Thanks Silver, It’s that time at 6k miles! I just need to get a solid day in the shop. It’s not a job I want to get 1/2 way done and get distracted for a week.... It will be a few weeks until I get that chance but I promise I will take lots of pics during the process and share them;)

Nice "life hack" for plugging the banjo :up: Damn! You are a handsome fella !

Funny story here, I didnt plug mine and the brake fluid drained into my collector as you can see in the pic unknown to me at the time, Once done fired it up and smoke was coming out of my exhaust I was very worried at first, till I figured out what took place. :black_eyed:

That’s good news about the slave I still need to get one.

I am doing the valves on my bike this week or next. I have 5400 or something on it right now. Kinda excited to tear it apart but I have had a new project I have been working on.

1979 chevette. New Holley carb, new distributor and coil, new clutch, tranny mount motor mounts torque tube mount, new brakes and lines, new shocks springs all ball joints inner and outer tie rods. Rebuilt the rack and pinion. New wheels and tires. Lol in the chevette what am I doing with my life!!!?
