well what had happened was...on a afternoon ride yesterday and took a corner too hot ended up catching the grass on the apex and ended up in the ditch about 80 ft later...insurance will prolly total it out i think i tweaked the frame and the subframe is all kinds of crooked lost the whole front faring surprisingly there wasnt much cosmetic damage possibly cause i was in the grass and mud ...lucky for me i was wearing all my gear all i got was a busted ring finger, i think its broke at the first knuckle and a bruised left calf from where the passenger peg caught me...other than that im ok hopefully ill be back on another buell soon...im really bummed out

hell dont be bummed ... out of all the things that could of happened..probably the luckest day of your life

good you're still walking...

now atleast you have an excuse to leave that wedding-ring home :D

Be glad you are ok. secondly If you have full coverage then hope they will total it. it never rides the same after a wreck. :(

I laid mine down in March and its now June. Still no bike. I was only doing 25 MPH and all the damage was cosmetic. I hope your experience goes better than mine is going.

Glad everyone is ok. Just a word of advise. You are supposed to keep the shiny side up and the rubber side on the road. JK
Hope you get back on 2 wheels soon.:D

Yeah I've been there, well sort of.

Mine was a freak accident and thankfully the pavement spared me a visit. Oh and did I say no fender bender either?

But I wasn't as fortunate, I was not able to walk away. Broke the fibula and ankle due to a piece of debris that had struck me from another vehicle that rode over it on the HWY ahead of me.

Try that for a late x-mas present Dec 27th '08.

Glad your ok, we've all been there, or close to thereof. Bikers always run to their rides and sometimes end up hurting themselves in the process. Ever run on a broken leg? Not good.

That said, research up on the insurance accident process and your insurance company. I did and I found I was entitled to $1,200+ for diminished value when they tried to pretend not to know what it was, or that I wasn't allowed it since I was on a bike; but they ultimately conceded.

Good Luck Fellow Bueller

Glad you walked away! Hit a deer doing 70 on my XB12R last year and walked away with some minor road rash and a totalled bike. Hope you are able to get a leg over another bike soon. Says a lot for wearing full gear for sure. That was my second high speed deer/bike collision in seven years and being geared up was the major factor in me being here today with all my parts intact!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I know its been said but bikes are easily replaceable with insurance but body parts arent. I'd be glad to be in one piece and in your down time try to decide whether to get the same bike again or go for an 1125R?

so the damage estimate came back last week bike was not totaled they said and its going to cost 6900.00 to fix...they said if it would have been more than 75% of the value of the bike they would have totaled it...missed it by around 5% so the good news is ill be back on the road again cant wait.
