What are your winter plans?

Help Support Buellxb Forum:

New bars, mount a gps, bar end mirrors, led tail with turn signals, powder coat forks & triples black while getting the seals done... And make over the garage within the next month, I have layed the acrylic floor,
need a heater, install the tv and install ceiling speakers

I really want to RIDE into the cold months. I just need a decent pair of gloves - maybe heated (recommendations?). Sometimes I think I have Reynaud's...

Otherwise, I plan to work on the small details, such as strategically painting the head on torx/allen bolts with a crinkle black finish.

you guys need to take a vacation and bring your bikes along to SoCal:D

well, if I could ever find someone willing the swap their "R" front end for an "S", that's what I'd be doing over the "winter" as you guys call it with the white stuff known as snow and such:D:D:D replace bearings, maybe if the cash flow works out, powder coat wheels, get shorty levers, new seat or have the current one reshaped and covered, the list goes on....

Probably gonna paint Tonna's XB9R, do some more more work on my cafe', and when we get to 0*, changing helmets and goin' to find some mountains to shred on my K2's

I have to reshape and re-cover my seat foam or just buy a seat cowl haven't decided which yet. Remove my belt guards, maybe a brether reroute and catch can and air box delete. But I'm really excited about my new cafe project, I traded for an '81 Kaw KZ 650 LTD. That bike will be put on a serious diet and will get new pipes and tins. Haven't decided about internals yet. Mostly that depends on whether I can get it started before it gets cold or not.

Well, seeing as my Buell is relatively new to me and upstate NY winters aren't so great for riding, I'm doing a few upgrades. Heated grips, K&N filter, Drummer exhaust, upgraded lights, GPS mount, and a few other goodies.

I'm also getting my 1956 South Bend 9" Lathe ready to go, and hopefully will be making some new parts while the snow flies. I also had a few people express an interest in a custom seat a friend and I made for his XS650, so we may be taking orders for a few more of those. Other than that, drinking coffee and watching the snow come down while working in the garage.

I am gonna attempt to fight the urge of changing my R to an S. so it's going in the cycle vault and I will focus most of my time on wood working!

I plan on finishing my S1/XB project. I need to powder coat several pieces. It will also be getting XB rocker boxes and breather system.

This is what I started with.

This is the direction I am going.

i'm going to pull my forks off, change fork oil (probably have a shop do that). Paint my swing arm and frame black, and plasti-dip my forks black like another member has done. I also will probably clean up my rats nest of wires i have going to the battery. along with the basic things such as fluid change, and such.

SULK ,and wait for the spring rains to wash all the salt and crap off the roads so riding season can start again

I'm gona park my bike and get on the one thing I have that's faster then my bike and maybe more nimble.. 1049 4 stroke chip and pipe oh I can't wait for the snow [cool]

I'm going to powdercoat those $hitty looking wheels amber with new wheel bearings, and get new tires, intake stacks, and get 150 to the rear wheel if it kills me.

I'm going to quit my second job so I'll actually have time to work on my bike and ride just for fun. No snow here in So Cal!
