What did you do for your Buell today?

Pulled front wheel bearings, put new ones in the freezer for tomorrow's install. Re-installed my headlight modules after powder coat and hooked everything back up behind fly screen. Probably getting the controls back on my Renthal Ultra-lows tomorrow.

Replaced front wheel bearings. I read a tip on here to put the bearings in the freezer overnight and that worked like a champ. Took a few love taps from the rubber mallet, but otherwise they fell right into place.

Also got my comtrols and new grips back on my new handle bars, thanks to Lesley! Sent the Renthals to me for free without even asking for them. Good dude!

Forgot to take a picture of those!

Going to start on the SS swing conversion tomorrow!

When metal is hot, it expands. When its cold, it shrinks.......just enough to make sliding them in a little bit easier. It's a tight fit in there!

Un-effing-believable!!

Have several projects working right now on the bike, one of which was powder coat. PC'd my forks as well. Had Harley take them apart and rebuild them after PC. Put them on couple days ago and when I went out to work on other things today I noticed the towel that I had wrapped around my forks to protect them, one of them was wet.

THE EFFING FORK IS LEAKING!!

It's quite a project pulling them off and reinstalling them. You have to take of the entire front end. I don't have the time to do all of that again! I'm more than pissed!!

I think I'm just going to trailer the bike to HD and have them take them off and fix them.

Got my state inspection today at my local BMW dealer again and watched people circling around the Buell and discussing and pointing at it while it was surrounded by all kinds of fine German machinery. The service writer pointed out every time I come in my bike is the center of attention. BUELL BABY!!! [up]

Got mine back together today! New steering bearings installed, new windscreen/emblems, exhaust, bar ends, oil change, lowered the front, lots of fun stuff! Getting ready to do the wheel bearings like netty and brake pads, and waiting on my new belt still but she's road worthy again now :) That other stuff is just PM

Pulled the motor out of my 04 to check oil lever and change spark plugs ; ).

Jk just got the new motor for the 04. The 09 doesn't get much other than maintenance and rides.

Installed front fairing lowering mod on my '05 XB12R Firebolt. Went with a 2" drop, which is what I was mainly after with this mod, and included a 2" forward extention, not for styling but to accommodate a future upgrade to a Brembo radial front brake master cylinder. Drummer Racing (KD Fabrication) made the required bracket one-off at my request. He had done similar brackets before for a 3/4" forward extention alone for those who wanted to install a radial master cylinder (for clearance of the handlebars to the fairing). Shaggy gave me the information when he saw my thread about the fairing lowering mod:

http://www.buellxb.com/Buell-XB-Forum/Do-It-Yourself-Buell-Mods/How-do-I-do-Firebolt-front-fairing-lowering-mod

In the thread, I have now provided a number of photos (probably too many), descriptions and instructions for installing the mod.

Here is the bracket:

Here is what the bike looks like with the fairing lowering bracket installed:

This was only done for styling. A personal peference - I'd always thought the fairing "stuck up" too high. This is part of the look I am going for. More mods to come.

If you are interested, check out the thread, and if you are really interested, contact Kevin at Drummer Racing, and let him know I sent you.

Got in a few speed bleeders today. Will actually be installing them this weekend! Just trying to make an annoying job a little easier!

I just won this street fighter seat (gotta love them calling it a stock seat) off ebay for $25 hellz yeah! Im not worried about the back part needing recovered im just going to do like i did on my old buell!! It gives it a cowl look but no need to worry about taking it off if you wanna take a chick for a ride!
