I came up with an idea on how to get 2 inch drop pegs for way less than the $170 ones Knight Designs offers. I'll be sure to do a write-up if it works like I think it will.

I also added a couple of things to the income tax refund wish list, hopefully I'll wake up tomorrow to a nice present direct deposited into my account by Uncle Sam.

I posted this in the PO's fs thread earlier this week. Traded him some levers for his hand guards. They were a bit roughed up and had some not so appealing additional wind plates screwed into them.

I removed the plates, sanded, painted, filled in the bottom screw holes and put spikes into the top holes....

Took it out to complete an ARC. And of course the bike started screwing up again. But I think I finally narrowed down my stalling issue down to the fuel pump. (09' xb12x). Funny thing was, everyone knew what it was, but were very surprised how it handled and stopped. Was even asked if it had ABS! "Nope".

Installed new front muffler strap and gave her a good wash and polish!

And to rub it in, was blistering 37 degrees C here, so I had the fire going in the background around 7pm last night. :D

Finally got time off of work to put on my christmas gifts. I replaced the original plugs, changed oil and filter and put new grips on.

tried to order this two years ago, only to be told it was obsolete...well HD was reminded that they signed a 7 year contract to support and provide parts for Buell motorcycles...look what showed up in the mail today from newcastlehd.com

Jessie I've probably got 10 hours into them, they were horrendous when I took the wrap off. If and when I next have to rotate the motor I think I'm going to invest in a bench grinder with some buffing wheels and really make them shine.

I still have a few things to do before riding season really kicks off but I couldn't miss this nice day. The tag bracket needs to come back off for paint, I have to retap the bolt holes for the pully cover, paint the center piece of the chin spoiler and remount it...

I rode my XB12Scg to Daytona Bike Week and ended (by luck) parking by the EBR tent. When I left most of the guys from EBR gave me a thumbs up as I rode by the tent.

Continued the blacking out process ala rattle can. I'm pretty happy with the outcome. :D

After giving up on my search, I found a rear wheel in translucent amber on ebay and ended up getting it for under $100 :D

Unfortunately, the bearings were shot in it, so I had to pull them with the kit available from Harbor Freight. It was surprisingly useful and took less than 5 minutes.
