What DON'T you like about your Buell?

love everything about it, i like the fact that it is aircooled and runs super hot in traffic. vibrates like a bitch at stoplight. but so real, the reason i bought the buell is because of its imperfection. What makes it so perfect is because of its imperfection.

Put aluminum foil covering this area so it directs the oil down to the oil pan and then you get no oil on anything. Thanks davexb12r

I'd like to take credit for that, but someone else gave me that idea. I wish I could remember who.

I think the heat is a problem as well. Factory ceramic coated headers would have been a great addition.

I don't like the fact that I have to worry about crashing and having a hard time finding replacement parts. HD has really F'ed us.

I also don't like the low tech gauges, no temp display, no est MPG, no rev limit light.

stop using synthetic oil!
I had the neutral hunt when I used regular oil too.

Yea, can't really give that one to Dave since I've done that years before I ever got on this board. Just common sense after the first oil spill fiasco back in 2003 :)

Wheel Bearings, cant believe no one has mentioned them, 3rd set in my bike including factory ones in 45k miles

I agree with you man. Love all the quirks, heat, vibration, whirs and clunks. Makes me feel like a world war one fighter pilot with tears in my eyes and bugs in my teeth. I've done the jap thing and felt like a limp dick after every ride. Sure the speed and reliability is there but most women know that when they done with the sewing machine.

To the rest of you. Be a man. Stop complaining. Ride and accept the bike for what it is. Thats why you bought it in the first place - not so? Still not happy, then sign up for that sewing class. You'll get all you want there including thread burn, papercuts and ink stains.

You bunch of moffies.

A 6th gear would be nice on the freeway but that's really all I can complain about.

I really like how simple the bike is compared to my other bike. And the fact that it's just plain fun to ride :)

Hey a question was asked so we're answering it. Many of us have more than one bike and part of the charm, quirks, flaws are the reason we/I have kept mine since new. I ride my Buell a little more than my Triumph even though my 675 has all the things I wish the Buell was better at. Why is it wrong to want a smoother transmission and a six speed in a modern bike? I've been driving and collecting Alfa Romeo's for 25 years now and even with their flaws I will take them over the German, British and especially Japanese cars of the day. I have so many friends ask me why I don't have BMW's or Porsche's. I did and had, but prefer Italian cars of the same period. Probably the for same reason I love my XB.

My biggest complaint about my Buell... Harley Davidson
Dealerships!!!!!!

Note: I have found 2 that will continue to get my business. Whites HD/Buell Lebanon Pa and Schaefers HD/Buell in Orwigsburg Pa. Both have been great to deal with over the past few weeks.

You guys with the clunky shifting -
Have you tried adjusting your primary chain?

What don't I like about my Buell...
the gauge cluster (very 80's looking, imo), no spool mounts, and H-D's dipshit idea to not only can the Buell brand, but refuse to sell the brand! [mad]
