What type of gun do you guys conceal and carry?

Hey guys,

I am new to the whole conceal and carry thing. I live in Minnesota and I want to get my permit to conceal and carry.

i was wondering what types of guns you guys carry, and where on your body you carry them and with what type of carry "holster." Maybe prices too [up]

I carry either a snub nose hamerless 38 in my pocket or a Springfield XD 40 (My Favorite) I have a crossbreed holster cause you can truck your shirt in and it's hard to see!!

Open carry is a full size Springfield GI 45.
Concealed carry is a Springfield GI 45 micro-compact, though also have a Makarov I've used from time to time, though I'm not a big fan of anything smaller than .40 cal.

Usually carry at the 4 or 5 o'clock. For my it's the most comfortable.

Have all my holsters and belts from High Noon Holsters

The Topless is my open carry holster, also fits my micro. And have the Split Decision (which is tuckable) for both the full size and micro. Inside the waist band isn't the most comfortable carry for me...but gotta do what ya gotta do.

The one thing I VERY highly suggest, is invest in a good heavy grade gun belt. Cheap laminate leather belts (like you buy at most department stores) are to flimsy and won't hold the holster in place well with the added weight.


The XDs are also a great line, I've shot them before and plan on buying one down the road when I have some extra to spend on something besides the bike.

I carry a Kahr CW40 in a galco king-tuk inside the waistband holster. Its a single stack 40 that holds 6 in the mag and one in the chamber. Its less than an inch in width so its easy to conceal. When I can't carry the 40 due to size or what I'm wearing I carry my Ruger LCP either inside the waistband or in a pocket holster. The LCP weighs less than 10 ounces, you can almost forget your carrying with that gun.

most the time espcially on the bike it's my Lcp in a breast pocket(in apocket holster).
also have a m&p 40 but it's risky if you fell off the bike to cause an injury.(comptac ctac)

Hit up Bills Gun Shop and try different guns out and see what you like and what's comfortable for you. I'm looking to get a gun and conceal and carry permit this fall. I'm leaning towards a Beretta M9.

I carry a Glock 32 (357 Sig) for Open or Casual Carry. (Casual carry is when you cover with a shirt but don't care if the wind blows your shirt and exposes your pistol)

I carry my Colt Commander (.45 ACP)for Open Carry only and never on the motorcycle. I'm way to attached to this pistol to chance loosing or damaging it in a fall.

When I am going somewhere where I feel the need to conceal (church, ball games etc....) I carry a Sccy CPX-1 (9mm).

I carry the Glock and 1911 in a Blackhawk Serpa and the Sccy in a Bianchi. I very seldom carry IWB.

state of Illinois. We are now the only state without and kind of carry law. So all the criminals can carry, just us law-abiding citizens cant. Dam I want to move back to Colorado.

I sucks that I have 19years of service in the army,several deployments, and have way more weapons training then maybe 3/4 of the cops in this state, but yet I have my rights stolen from me here. Rant over thanks.

Sorry to hear about your move to Illinois... I have to drive into the PRNJ every day for work. Every day when I drive across the bridge (to the free state of Pa) I feel like I just got parolled.

Also, i am from Minnesota. Do any of your Minnesota guys know what it takes to get a permit here? Classes, ect? I already have my firearms safety permit for hunting and such..

I like these a lot. 3" barrel makes it nicer than my 4" for concealed carry this may be my next one.
