dawn dish soap and a sponge is all i ever use on my bike. the dist wipes right off the wheels, it just takes some time to get them all clean with the forks and swing arm in the way.
okay guys, i used wesleys bleach white cleaner, it cleaned up really well, thanks alot to everyone who gave me the info. now i have to keep up with them so they dont get ****** again, ill post pics when the sun comes out in michigan
Funny you guys mention using dishsoap on your bikes...
I used to detail and paint cars and still do occasionally. The first thing you learn in automotive paint maintenace is to never use dishsoap on a vehicle after it's been waxed or detailed. The dishsoap strips the waxes and coatings right off the paint.
We actually use a few drops off dishsoap when wet sanding because it acts as a lubricant, cleaner and rinses away with no residue.
That film on your rear wheel is probably exhaust residue from the stock exhaust can, it blows directly at the rear rotor and deflects onto the wheel. I've seen many 1125 owners complain about it. My bike has 320 miles on it and the rear wheel is already discolored, glad to hear the bleach white works. Now I know what to use on my wheel before I change my exhaust!
I love doing this every now and again, its great to get EVERYTHING off the bike.
once a year I strip it and re wax the whole thing, takes about a day to wash detail 6 coats of wax change fluids and spark plugs plus adjust the clutch.
ill try the s100 next was, i think i'll stay away from the simple green, i'm scared to mess up a $300 wheel. thanks again to everyone on this forum.
