soo im washing the bike today and i thought that the soap and water would take care of the wheels but i have thisstrange black flim over the rear wheel. looks like brake dust but not even alcohol will remove it. what are you guys using to clean the wheels without discoloring or missing anything up.

Eagle One works well, as does the Bleach White.

I've always had excellent results with Simple Green on my cars. You can it in bulk and just mix what you need.

alright guys thanks, i just wanted to get an inside opinion just incase i discolor or fade the paint on the wheels

crx, the high pressure wont hurt anything? im going to try the simple green first and see if i get it. the guy i bought the bike from must have never cleaned the rear wheel. 6000 miles of brake dust [confused]

Na the wheel cleaner at the car wash is low pressure, and I've washed my bike at the car wash since I got it and never had a problem at full blast. Just don't hold it directly on there and you should be ok!

alright thanks bud, yeah i kinda figured that full blast on powercoat isnt too good... thanks again to everyone

...yeahhh thats what i was afraid of, im moving my wash to tomorrow its been raining all goddamn day [sad]

+1 on the Simple Green. I actually JUST finished washing my bike. First time in a month and it looked like sh**. I washed the majority of it with a sponge and some Mr. Clean soap then I went back and cleaned the rims with Simple Green. Also used the SG with an electric toothbrush to get into all the nasty nooks and crannies on the engine. Worked like a champ. :D

I have seen Simple Green do more damage to things then good. I will never get it near anything I care about.

I know people who swear by it. Too bad they dont notice just how bad their vehicle looks.

Get some wheel cleaner for the wheels and glass cleaner for the glass. You dont change a light bulb with a chainsaw...

mothers mag wheel works great on the polished edges (if you have polished edges)

I chuck a polishing wheel into my drill and cut my wheel cleaning time down significantly.
