Hey guys, I'm looking for a good wheel cleaner that will really shine them up and blast away any of that brake dust build up in those tight spaces. I just used the last of my Armor All wheel cleaner and I wasn't that impressed with it.

On a side note, can you guys give me some tips on what you do to get your wheels all nice and shiny again? I just spent an hour or so on my ass with a toothbrush trying to get into the tight spaces of my wheels of my 04' xb12r.

Thanks!

HD wheel cleaner works well, but can grease up the brakes. Have you tried a pressure washer to get the hard stuff off?

I just put up with it being a PITA. I'm concerned about commercial wheel cleaners being too caustic for the powdercoat. I end up with chewed knuckles, but whatchagonnado?

On my silver wheels I used some auto parts store wheel cleaner and it really screwed up the polished lip on them. I had to spend a couple hours with some "never dull" and now they look new again. Next time it will just be soap and water. Be careful what you use, some of those cleaners are pretty nasty stuff.

I used the Flitz polish on my rims and race muffler. Turned out fantastic! I didn't know the polished wheels were so shiny.:D

I used some wheel cleaner and it ended up discoloring my belt guard and front fender!!! It didn't harm the powdercoat though.

On my 03 with the polished lip and rough silver surface I used WD40 and a soft bristle brush. It got all the brake dust off and looked great!

are you guys worried about making the tires slippery though? I want to clean my tires but im scared to use anything other then water. I dont want a greasy substance on my tires in the turns....

or am i just paranoid?

Understand your concern, but I didn't have any issues. Just be sure to rinse off the rims/tires REALLY good. [up]

This is probably the best stuff I have ever used, no autopart store or walmart stuff is even close to it, I pay $15 for a gallon and you dilute it 4 parts water 1 part cleaner, you literally spray it on and hose it off with no scrubbing and it's hasnt damaged my rims on my car or bike. I'll have to get some before and after of my car to prove it really works.
