at 4500 rpm or so in first just close the throttle and then open it as fast as you can to WOT, the front will come up. cover the rear brake as others have stated.

When coming back down, do i give it a little gas to ease the impact? I don;t want to bend a fork or bend anything.

Same here Freak My fat ass stays on two wheels!! If I am on one that means some **** has happened and there is about to be some missing parts of my day followed by allot of pain!!!!

BUELLS HAVE LOTS OF TORQUE SO USE IT, EASY SECOND GEAR WHEELIE FROM 25 TO 40 U CAN EVEN USE THIRD GEAR BOUT 30-40. PRACTICE BEING COMFY WITH WHEEL COMING UP AT FIRST DONT TRY IT ALL AT ONCE WORK UP TO IT.GET PROFICIENT WITH CLUTCHING IT UP, THE CLUTCH N BRAKE ARE THE KEY TO SMOOTH CONTROLLED WHEELIES, TAKE UR TIME.

expect to be replacing front Isolator and bolts a lot, if you want to stunt, why not get a cheapo jap bike that parts are still available for? It's your bike and butt, but as hard as parts are to come by, why risk tearing it up?

Just try not to slam it down, ease off the throttle or ease on the rear brake. It will take practice. You wont bend a fork but if you do it a lot the seals could go out and need to be rebuilt.

+1 on what wolfo said.. No clutch just "play with the torque curve". High RPMs, let off for a quick sec. then gas it!! Did one for about 2 city blocks the other day.. I've been riding wheelies for about 20 years and that was the best one on the buell yet. (had the xb for 7 yrs now)

lol i just type how my wife leaves the shifty thing cap or not i dont choose!!!!didnt even no i was yelling on computer.sorry

Ok I need to comment. I came from stunting and I am very good and experienced here so take heed. These are not the bikes you should be learning on... And the street isn't the place either. Not many ever listen but learn on something else, dirt bike are the best, 4 strokes and have fun in the dirt. Too many things can go wrong.

The right wheelie - quick snap of throttle and clutch and bike immediately jumps to balance point. Using the throttle clutch and rear brake you can keep it perfectly balance at whatever speed you want...

The wrong wheelie - twist the throttle hard and bounce the bike up blah blah blah. Remember even in first after you hit the gas your going 65 mph in 1st. First has so much engine brake that the second you let of the throttle the bike slams down (fork seals). This WILL Eventually make you crash, usually bad. I know people like power wheelies but they just aren't right. Also, the gearing is way wrong to wheelie.

No offense but I've seen some horrible crashes from the stunt days. You are riding a 1200cc motorcycle, it's no joke and it's not the right bike for the job... At least at your experience level.

Buy and old stunt bike, dirt bike, quad, xr50, etc. Learn there. If your near mass I'll show you some things. Ride safe

Just some proof

nice pic in the rain that is crazy . i do it at work in the parking lot i work for Chrysler the parking lot is hug lol just for fun and get better at it but where i live i really do not know people that ride bc i just move to rockford lol

I wish I had a huge parking lot to play in. I moved to Boston and it's tough up here. Florida was easy. If you have no other option just keep playing with your bike but follow your instincts. Don't convince your self you can do something you can't. Baby steps lol.

Btw when you get them down it's the best feeling ever.

Well, I have been apprehensive about this, but I will just pass. Like alcohol, drugs, and other things, I have gotten this far without it, no reason to start now. Ride safe guys!
