So for the birthday day i got a Hero 3 silver, pretty awesome, especially since i have an app on my phone that control its.

Ive got a few mounts now where to put them and how to secure them on my 12R? And what have you done with yours, and crazy videos?

Most people like to mount them on the passenger pegs. It's a pretty kool view. I've strapped a camera to my chest. I liked being able to see the speedo. I always had a failsafe though so you don't lose your camera on the side of the road.

I dont really like putting the sticky 3M mounts on my plastics/bike so i got a suction cup mount that will work on my air box, my front fairing, and my rear seat cover. I also use the strap to mount it to my helmet

it works pretty good, the visor doesn't like to be up when i have it on my helmet but it works well

Wait, How'd you get the strap onto the Icon Variant helmet to hold the GoPro? I had an Icon Alliance helmet and had my GoPro mounted to the front chin of my helmet. But that helmet is totaled now from my accident 4 weeks ago. I'm looking to get an Icon Variant, but I'm not sure how I'm going to mount the GoPro onto it the same way.

I mounted mine to my swingarm spools with the handlebar attachment but be careful, just 4 days ago the male portion that connects to my mount broke and I lost my GoPro Hero2 somewhere on the highway. I walked for about 4 hours up and down the highway but never found it :(

Plus side is I went out and bought the Hero 3: Black...

If you do attach it somewhere you can't watch it, I would rig up some sort of safety system (maybe with zip ties). Personally I like my chest harness. I've tried the suction cup but our bikes are too shaky.

Here is a video I shot last night

Ok so to utilize my new gopro though i can still view upload take pictures, but its all a little laggy or skips, its suggested to have a pc with 3.5GHz processor or better, or mac pro with 2.0GHz or better. so basically my crappy laptop wont cut it and $1k minimum for a computer. Wtf...

Mine snapped about 2 weeks ago. Emailed gopro and the hooked me up with new adapters. I found my camera because I was on a dirtbike so I saw it only fall on the ground. Maybe they can help out? I'd give them a call and see what they can do for ya

If you are going to attach a safety device use plastic coated wire. It is much stronger than a zip tie and the plastic coating will keep it from scratching the bike. They sell it at home depot or lowes. If you are mounting it near a wheel or moving part make sure clearance isn't an issue, because if it ends up in the wheel and explodes the wire kind of defeats the purpose;)

I may try that, I was thinking of posting on their facebook page. My mount is still good as it broke off just above where it screws in, but I lost the camera and the elbow attachments.

Thanks iman501 for the video. Who knew such a simple idea worked so well. I though it would be bouncing around way too much mounted like that, but I guess not. +1 for you! I can't wait to get my Variant.
Cecilsan, holy crap the GoPro3 looks good at night! I have the original GoPro HD Hero and the video is grainy when filming at night.

I've tried the airbox, i wasn't crazy about that location. I've also mounted it upside down on the bottom end of my front nose fairing, then set the camera to record upside down (it ended right side up once put on the computer) It was a cool location at first, until I hit a few hard corners and my forks would compress enough to have the camera touch the plastics over the tire. Eventually it somehow managed to open up the camera case, and my camera ended up all over the road, it took like two hours of back tracking to find it. It still worked, just a bit beat up....

I'll see about getting a video up of the helmet location at some point

What resolution mode do you run it and what are your computer specs my laptop doesnt like videos over 720p-30. And my girls brother has an alienwear all beefed up that barely handles the 1080p-60. His desktop with an intel i7 processor though super charges the video looks amazing and runs smooth video

This one has crappy quality but it's the view you get from putting it on your rear seat cover.

Got a bit of a video delay, like a big one and it doesnt let you view whats on the camera just remote control it. But its great still!

Bumping this back up… anyone have good ideas how to mount a go pro on a Buell? I've got a suction cup mount that I stick on the air box cover, but I'm concerned about it coming off. (hasn't yet) It does sometimes vibrate the camera and pivot it to the side.
