Whirring from primary with clutch released

I rode a Norton for 50 years and if the primary chain adjustment was wrong it created all kinds of trouble

I kept trying to do technical repair to my bike without referencing the manual I could get for free...

it created all kinds of trouble:applause:


Nice Norton! I found a guy who makes these technical drawings. This is an old one he used to race:)

What a pretty bike !

When you ask for help over the forum, you should try and appreciate how difficult it is to be the one trying to help the person asking for the help. If one doesn't use the proper descriptions of the various parts, how in the world do you expect to get accurate answer ? Get with the program !

These bikes have manuals?

That is a nice Norton.
 
That bike sat unused in my father's garage for decades. I brought it home, went through it and raced vintage twins at Lodi Cycle Bowl until a few years ago. Frame paint is original. Quite a rare Norton in it's own right. Dallas Baker made the frame in 1970. I remember driving to LA with my father to pick it up. Cost back then was around $500.
