I really hate the fact that I can't see anything from my shaky stock mirrors. I want a set of Aprillia mirrors that are on American sportbike. But are they shaky like stock as well or can you actually tell what kind of car is behind you?

I hear they rock but last time i check American Sportbike had them on back order and was not expecting them for awhile.

It there a member here who runs American Sportbike who can answer that question about the backorder?

I run them on my XB12Ss. They aren't shake and vibe free, but they are 20 times better than what the stock lollipops offer. They tend to get smoother above the 2000rpm mark and at 80mph you can see what is behind you and make it out pretty well. With the stock mirrors I couldn't even see what was back there let alone how close it was or what it was. I ordered a second replacement from ASB about 2 months ago and it was in stock. I purchased my original set from my local Aprilia dealer. Hope this helps!

The backorder has been filled the last time i checked. THey should be available. I think bare-end mirrors look better. Take a look at those before you pull the trigger.

See I think the Tuono mirrors look better and I don't have to avert my eyes all the way down to the end of my bars too see what's behind me. This is not only an inconvenience to me but also it's somewhat of a safety hazard when all I have to do with the Aprilia mirrors is look to the side ever so slightly. I also think that the shape of the Aprilia mirrors match the overall feel and look of the bike better than a round or rectangle shaped bar-end mirror. But that's why there's "different strokes for different folks."

A good set of bar end mirrors like crg and the proper bar ends are virtually vibration free they help to act as a counter weight to the bikes vibration. I was skeptical on the safety and comfort issues of looking down at my bars to see behind me. But on my first ride after install I noticed it was much less of a strain and felt very natural. Plus they look sick! :D

Well if you run bar-end mirrors then you have an extra inch sticking out at the end of your bars if you also run bar-end sliders. I run the bar-end sliders which also help to balance out the vibes just by themselves. If you ever do go down with bar-end mirrors with or without the sliders, instead of picking the bike back up with your bars and levers untouched as you would with bar-end sliders now you could have destroyed mirrors and possibly levers and bars too.

I personally think the round bar-end mirrors look like an after-thought and don't gel with the overall look of the bike. It is easily argued that top mount mirror location is much easier to see and in-line with your natural peripheral view.

Just trying to argue for the other side here with my POV, if you like the bar-end mirrors then mor epower to you!

With the crg lane splitters if you bike goes down the mirrors will fold in and it will hit the bar-ends and let them serve their purpose. I don't hate top mounted mirrors at all. I just don't like the mickey mouse ears that come with the Lightning. I still haven't seen anyone swap them out for anything cool. You should post some pics when you get your new mirrors I would love to see them.:)

Ill have those up for you tommorow, kinda funny how you are gunna call me out on that by requesting to see some proof that I run them. I hope that you are just curious and not trying to be prick, if you then sorry for assuming that you were.

Dude, settle down. I am looking for new mirrors and am just curious to what they look like. Not calling you out at all, I could care less if you have proof or not.

I apologize if that came off as a little hasty. I am a little on the edgy side as of late and it's trickling over into my internet life too haha. Ill get some up this afternoon.

I have the mirrors and some heavy bar-ends and it still vibrates like crazy at lower rpms. the only good thing i can say about them it does have a more sportier look to them.

Let's get some pictures of these mirrors on ya'lls bikes, I have the bar ends and I like them, but would love to see what the aprilia mirrors look like on a Buell

I see fine out of my stock mickey mouse ears but hate the whay they look. I just bought a set of 2007 Apprilia Tuonno mirrors. They were about 20 bucks a piece.

Where did you get them and can you post some pictures of them installed?
