Lesley is a great guy to be around, has been into Buells for years, and is one of the kindest, friendliest and most generous people i've ever met......ever. though admittedly he is sensitive about drain plugs

aside from the drain plug comment I must say I have you fooled Mr lunaticfringe. LOL
Thanks for the very kind words John.

Wow. It went from learning how to drift a motorcycle to a lesley thread. Thread officially jacked.

yeah OK thanks I see it now.. its a mini stoppie to get the weight off the back then you gotta add the clutch and a bunch of throttle to prevent the tire from gaining grip .. then you gotta pump the handlebars to keep the turn corrected.. I understand it rationally but now I gotta get it hard wired into my muscle memory.. that's the hard part.. I want to try it but Im worried that Ill freeze up the first time I do it and forget to work that front end like hes doing and It will spit me off in that first few degrees of turn..

Think my nervous system will just do it automatically?

^i think you will probably eat **** the first couple of times. But like anything else will eventually get the hang of it. I personally don't get the drifting thing, just seems like a waste of tires I couldn't afford, but it certainly is cool to watch.

i tried a rolling burnout once... well twice. First time front tire locked because pavement was dirty but i saved it. Then the second time I did it. Got comfortable and then sat back on the seat, next thing i knew i was doing a wheelie.

i think of this when i hear drifting though. not standing over the tank doing a burnout in circle. this looks much harder to learn than the above. maybe once you get good at circle burnouts you gradually increase speed? i dont really know just a thought.

yeah that looks fun too.. I wanna learn it because it looks like its fun to do and its a skill I don't have yet.. just looks like something that would be cool to pull out of your hat every now and then.. besides, its good to be a well rounded rider in my opinion.

I think Im gonna wipe out the first few times too.. Im gonna wait until I get a 600 rat bike.. Im not gonna put my XB through the learning process.. I like it too much. I don't even think I would want to put a crash cage on my XB and try to learn that.. I think It may beat it up too much.

Although at 8 minutes and 30 seconds it's almost more of a short film, but still, this video by Icon has some amazing drifting skills.

Icon gear is getting better and better.. I got a second Icon Alliance helmet and the box it came in was fancy as hell.. I said to the dealer "Oh come on, Icon.. youre not that high-end".. pulled the helmet out and took the cover on it and I was like "Daaaaaamn! Icon, you upped your game"..

My Icon Construct (variant) is a pretty awesome helmet, I haven't had much Icon gear previous to the helmet, but I'll definately buy their products again!

I run all icon gear now after getting a killer deal on a icon accelrant jacket, then i picked up some overlord gauntlet gloves by far the best i have ever had just picked up a new airframe helmet I've only tried it 3 times so far and love it the fit is great.

I got the Icon Contra Jacket in black, awesome jacket.. classic look to it good armor.. then I got the field armor vest its awesome, I went down in it and it worked, the elbow armor (it worked also) but Im not using their knee armor bc it was too short bc I wear shoes instead of boots so I went with the Knox Knee / shin gaurds.. that also worked real well in that last crash I had.. Gloves Im using rignt now is Joe Rocket GPX, good gloves but I wish I had those Icon overlords.. those look real nice, or the ones with the titanium plates on the fingers.. those look hooligan as hell.

Check this little movie Icon made.. I got all caught up in it and watched the whole thing. Brilliant way to advertise a great product.. I like how Icon focused on the "street", they give you great protection but you can still look good in public with it, they took fashion in account in those designs without really sacrificing protection.. everything looks like it came out of the Halo 2 video game.. good idea.. kinda military-looking.

no I never bought the Icon knee armor to begin with.. I just looked at it and could tell it was too short for the shoes I like to ride in. I wanted full shin protection and the Icon ends about half way down the shin.

Not to change topic but its all about gear now, im now looking for an old 600-750 to break as well.
But i dont like full leather, full riding pants, especially a regular commute or stroll trough the canyons, im not tracking so ive got my self a set of dainese knee shin guards that just strap on pretty snug, kinda been given a lot of **** for it, and not sure why
