Grandstand Designs is the only company that I know of that makes a kit.

But all you need is a widened rear wheel and a chain conversion to fit a 240mm. Also that is the largest you can go.

Whats the widest tire one can run without replacing the swing arm and belt drive. Like can I run a 190/50-17 on a stock firebolt with belt guards removed?

I have a 190/50 on mine no problem. I also saw a post with a 200 on with no modifications, there was only about 3/16" on clearance from the tire to the belt however :p .

The 190 seems good to me. I've seen a few people mention the 190 does not greatly reduce your handling. Unless you drag your knee all the time I don't think the 190 will loose you much. I'd think the 200 would start to make a more noticeable difference, but I haven't rode on one. For me, I'm sticking with the 190, good compromise of looks and performance.

200/55/17 tight, but it fits....

handling according to xtreme isnt affected too much. Im getting new tires this winter and i wanna step up my tire size. Ive read this link like 5 or 6 times so far, but im still undecided.

200mm Tire Review

I think it comes down to individual riding styles. I know i dont ride to the bikes extremes, therefor the 200 seems fine for me and my riding style. If i was to track ride alot then 180 maybe 190 is a must to get the full performance out of these bikes. IMO

Maybe a little faster as its a softer compound. Im getting even wear as i ride lots of corners and have no dramas getting it over from side to sode.

good news than....Ill be getting a 190 this week....the belts decided to come out sunday.lol

Go ahead and expect really bad handling

Wide wheel performs very well with a decent rider behind the bars. Actually wide wheel performs even better than narrow wheel, the only reason motorcycles use narrow wheels is weight saving. The wheel width is in compromise with wheel weight - there is a point where increasing tire width does not improve handling significantly but significantly affects weight.
