I jumped on my 12R after drinking a coffee and went to go get some gas, Looked down and my dash was dead... hit either brake and the dash comes back on like normal. Everything working great, running great, lights, blinkers everything but dash is out and only comes on if you hit either brake.

Took it back home and figured it was bad connection to the battery, I just put that new Shorai in there 2 or 3 days ago so I figured maybe the connections were bad. Cleaned connections and same thing, dash crazy. So I pulled the Shorai and put one of my new lead batteries in there... SAME THING. Its not the battery or the connections. Checked my grounds, they looked normal. I had a trouble code put I haven't pulled it yet, I figure its its probably going to be something related to grounds or voltage. Ill check it later.

The battery I had in there was at least 3 years old, the voltage regulator is original 2004 45,000 miles more or less.. I haven't checked the regulator yet.

my question is this.. has anyone seen this exact problem before? dead dash but hit either brake and it comes back?.. and could this be voltage regulator? That regulator is pretty old.

My instincts tell me to just go an put a new rectifier on it... I hate chasing down electrical ****.. should I just get it over with? Could the dash itself be bad?

NEVER MIND.. it WAS that friggen accessory fuse... It wasn't burned out but it must have been corrosion on the contacts.. I just swapped it out and everything came back to life.

Ok Im done with that. Im going to get started on that bike you dropped of here, Flax. Remember? SuzukiGreenGoblin.jpg

LMFAO....

When something suddenly goes wrong on a vehicle after you changed something in it, the answer is usually related to whatever you changed. My advice, get rid of the Shorai Li that "uses magical wizardry" as you so elegantly put it, and reinstall your lead acid battery. :applause:
