I have a 07 xb9 lightning that needs an engine. I found an 08 xb12 engine that comes complete with all wiring including the ECM. Will this work on my bike?

Edit:

Didn't read the whole post sorry. If you install the new ecm and wiring you should be good to go.

it is off a lightning. just out of curiousity, why is the wiring different on the firebolt?

the electronics are located in different places of the bike so the wiring would be different lengths compared to what you would need.

well, i think ill go for it then! lots of advantages to go to a 12 and an 08 too for that matter! Thxs for the feedback. I was hopin it would work!

New oil cooler throttle body ECM wiring harness injectors, voltage regulator, throttle cables, think that's all you need.

Why I connected my 08 ECM with ecmspy. You can't do anything with it besides check your tps degree and afv

Ummmm, you can brick it if you try to burn/modify maps and tables....safest not to bother with it.

07 uses a camshaft sensor, 08 has a crankshaft sensor. completely different signals, not interchangeable. 2008 engine does require a ddfi-3 ecm as well as a 2008 harness and a 2008 throttle body with iac.

thanks for all the advice. So the emcspy cable wont wor on an 08? I wont need to use the ecmspy anyway, the engine i bought comes complete with all wiring incuding the ecm. it also comes with the throttle body and full exhaust system. Should just be able to put it in and wire it up...right? I hope so, I already bought it and its on its way. I got a really good deal on it, so if it wont work i shouldnt have any trouble getting my money back out of it tho.
